I got this mate "gourd" to have an extra for company (I had another that came with a set). The insulated metal material is easy to clean and keeps my mate nice and warm. It's also more durable than a true gourd. The size is fine, and the bombilla with a cleaning brush is a nice extra. Good value for the money, IMO. Nice if you don't want to worry about maintaining a more authentic but fussy gourd. You could certainly also use this for coffee, tea, or small iced beverages, if you're not too much of a purist.

I paid around $8 and honestly, it works just like any expensive mate cup. It’s made of stainless steel on the inside, which is great because it doesn’t change the flavor of the yerba, and it’s black on the outside, giving it a sleek, modern look. What I liked the most is that it comes with several accessories this makes it very practical, especially if you’re new to drinking mate and don’t want to spend a lot of money at first. It does everything a fancy mate cup does, but at a fraction of the price.

Good quality although it was too big for me. With being this size it demands a lot of Yerba and to be honest I was hoping it would be smaller. But nonetheless it is a great mate.

I love Yerba mate so much however, using a traditional calabash made from a dried out Gourd would be a hassle so I opted out for a stainless steel mate cup. It works just fine, even if you wanna do that steep mate mountain slope. I guarantee it if you’re a beginner at drinking mate or an expert. Clean up is easy they have a cleaning utensil for the bombilla, It’s great for if you wanna drink it out and about, but don’t drink it while you’re walking since it is an open cup. Just sit down and sip it. Also, this would pair great with A matera a bag that can hold your mate and the cup along with your thermos of hot water.
