Hot wind machine
The media could not be loaded. I bought this mainly for the Hot Air to replace a 858d clone that died on me. I wanted a diaphragm style pump instead of a fan, didn't want wait for it to ship from china and wanted to keep it close to $100. This met my requirements and has the added bonus of an iron built it.The iron is quite good, I am surprised they are able to pull it off for so cheap. It feels very similar to my genuine Hakko and performs almost as well. It heats up quick and works just fine for small electrical components. It struggles a little bit with large joints, but It can definitely get the job done. A genuine Hakko tip would probably help quite bit.The hot air is great too. Like the iron, I am surprised they are able to pull it off so cheap. I had to crank it up to 400c to loosen SMD parts on an old Dell board but it performed flawlessly. The pump isn't too loud and it produces enough wind to blow your parts into the abyss (don't worry, you can turn it down). I took a video turning it on so you could hopefully hear it.I have only put about an hour on it, so I cant speak on long term reliability. I am happy with it so far.Fingers crossed it holds up.

Good quality
Decided to invest in a higher end soldering tool. I do lots of vintage electronics restoration and the component removal tool (heat gun) and adjustable heat iron was a must. Everything works great and I’m pleased with its operation. My only issue is the air tool cannot be disconnected when not in use and is hard wired into the unit. Not a big deal but it’d be nice to keep it out of the way more when I don’t need it. Other units have a screwed on quick disconnect feature but the overall quality and features otherwise make up for it.

Great soldering station!
Really cool soldering station! Comes with almost everything you need, and I have had a good experience so far. Love the handle on the top, and both the iron and heat gun remain cool around the handle during use. Heats up quickly, and the heat gun can be removed from the station like the soldering iron (which I didn't think you could, based on the images). The only reason it isn't 5 stars is that the soldering iron holder doesn't mount to the side of the station like the heat gun. I made a little DIY magnetic thing to attach it, and I like being able to carry everything together with just the single handle.Overall, really happy with it.

SOLDER REWORK STATION
WORKS LIKE IT SHOULD

Much better…
Don’t waste your money buying a hot air station if it has the fan in the handle. Just spend the extra 20 bucks. And buy this one. If you need to remove ic chips then this is the one you want. I used the one with the fan in the handle and it would take about a minute to two minutes. This unit does it it under 30 seconds with the same heat settings. The rotary knob also pushes in to adjust the fan output. THERE ARE 2 SCREWS THAT NEED TO BE REMOVED FROM THE BOTTOM BEFORE YOU USE THE MACHINE. BUY NICE OR BUY TWICE. I hope this helps someone out. Hope everyone is safe and well…

Overall a good hobby rework station.
I really needed a hot air rework station. The fact that this Bakon BK701D had a temperature controlled soldering iron was not necessary for me. I already had a Hakko soldering station. But hey it works and it is not too bad.Unfortunately my Bakon station looked like it fell before the manufacturer put it in the box. There was absolutely no damage to any of the Styrofoam or boxes. But I had a dent on the front of the station with blue paint that flaked off. I did bend it with a pliers back into shape. Also a screw fell out of the bottom of the unit, there are two installed for transit. You have to remove them for the air pump to not vibrate against the chassis. The power supply transformer was also loose vibrating against the air pump. So I had to open the cover and tighten everything. This is the reason for three stars. The build quality seems okay inside. The air pump is all plastic and mounted on four rubber damping feet. You can set the temperature readings to Fahrenheit or Celsius by holding both the up and down buttons when the unit is on. It comes with a 120VAC cord of course, a small tube of solder, small roll of solder wick, a desoldering pump, tweezer, two hot air attachments, six soldering tips, and a soldering holder with sponge and brass tip cleaner. It is a good value for the money. Without the damage I would have given it more stars.Update; removed stars. The hot air gun has no standby. When you put the air gun in the hangar/holder it continues to blow hot air. It is extremely dangerous and could cause a fire. It shows that it has a sensor that should put it into a standby mode but it doesn't.

This is a great unit!
The heat controls are great on this. The air pump makes it quieter than other heat guns. The sensor on the holster is great as well automatically starts a cooling process on the heat gun.I do wish that the holster for the soldering iron was something a bit more substantial and able to be mounted to the unit. But it works fine for what it is.I would definitely but this unit again. Hopefully I will not have to. But only time will tell!I know this is a relatively new unit or at least new to Amazon.I took a gamble and bought it with only 3 reviews that were paid. And it seems to have paid off!

First One Defective
Received the first one and was unable to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Digital display produced a code indicating a faulty display or heat issue. Amazon immediately replaced. I have not had a chance to try the new one.
