Has any one had the string split when you cut a length of the string off? I did.

I did. Completely split. And stretched even after I stretched for jewelry making. Bought this for my Girl Scout to make bracelets and running to Michael's now to get a better quality string.

It’s definitely round. I restrung a beaded Apple Watch band and it worked beautifully

I've found that some stretchy cords easily break apart over time, even if they weren't used. Any such problems here?

This isn't a comment on the quality of this, specific elastic string. But, that is just the nature of elastic in general. It's basically no more than a fancy rubber band. And no matter what it's made of (though it's usually made of a latex-based rubber and/or a polyester material), it will break over time. It can even break if it's left alone; that's because of environmental factors like humidity and heat. Better quality elastic will last longer, possibly years; but even that usually gives way after a while. That's why it's best to use elastic to make lower cost items you don't expect to last a lifetime, or beaded items where the beads can be moved to string or another elastic string at some point. If you're using elastic to make things for sale then it might be a good idea to have a warning somewhere stating that elastic isn't meant to last a super-long time. Then, price your elastic items accordingly.

Can I use this for glass beads?

Hi. Yes, you can absolutely use the string for glass beads. I do this often. I suggest using glass beads that are not too heavy. This stretchy string holds up pretty well. I only use it to make bracelets & anklets. It works just fine.

Great for beginners, somewhat fragile

I've been using this to make kandi bracelets for a while now. Very elastic and easy to work with, and doesnt get frayed super easily. It being black helps with it feeling more inconspicuous and not taking away from the colors of the bracelets themselves. Unfortunately I haven't had a great experience with it's durability, as the knots slip easily and it's broken on me a couple of times. Overall pretty nice to learn how to make kandi bracelets though!

Fraying, not a solid core.

Very stretchy, doesn’t take much stress to actually stretch it. Also, seems to be made out of many tiny threads which means it frays making it very difficult to thread. Not sure I’d recommend for that reason alone. So far it appears to be fairly strong.
