Great buy
I have owned a power head identical to this for the past 11 years. It was showing it's age and not working like it should and Home Depot quite selling them but I was able to find it here. It works great, just like having a brand new machine, which I truly do expect the attachments which all fit and work great on the new powerhead. I love the 4 cycle engine, no mixing gas and oil and it starts on the first or second pull every time. I hope to get another 11 years out of this one...

Plenty of power
Performs well, no issues after 4 days of hard use with multiple attachment working on a wooded 2acre residential property. More than enough power for all tasks. Easy to start and maintain.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF JUNK
Don't waste your good money on any of these 4-cycle pieces of crap. The fact that they may run on gas and not a gas/oil mixture like a 2-stroke engine may be tempting, but don't fall into that trap. They're crap. 2-stroke units are much more durable and dependable. I bought this head unit on 2/29. It arrived a couple of days later and when I set it up, I couldn't even pull the rope on it because there was oil in the combustion chamber. I had to take the thing apart and clean the combustion chamber out. I was finally able to get it to run after going through this. Next, just yesterday I wanted to do my first good hedge trimming of the spring. This lousy unit was a bitch to start and then when I got it to run, it would not run at full throttle and would cut off after about 2 minutes. A hedge row of mine that shouldn't have taken more than 20 minutes to trim took almost 2 hours because of the start/stop of this unit. I took it to a small engine shop today to have them look at it. The first they said to me was that the 4-cycle motors like this are garbage. If I could rate this a zero, I would. Save your money and buy something decent.

Need more 4 stroke motors
Ryobi has a great product. I do not know why Home Depot would sell them until gone and not restocke or reorder them. No mixing oil, no smoke and easy to use. The locking handle to lock attachments is easier and holds better than electronic ones. Mine got stripped out. UgBring them back!PS Amazon sold out quickly, I bot the last one. And love it!Mark

it's been as good as all my previous Ryobi products have been
Thus far, it's been as good as all my previous Ryobi products have been. The only issue it has is that it's difficult to pull when starting. It must have very high compression. I'm liking not having to mix gas and oil, and liked being able to buy just the head since I already have all the attachments.

Great product
A heck of a lot better than the 2-cycle motor!

Set up instructions need an addendum.
Complete junk. Followed the instructions, added the engine oil, gas, primed according to the instructions, pulled the cord and it is seized completely. Cord will not even budge the motor.Update: I set it aside with the shaft down so the oil could sit in the motor and maybe seep a bit. A day later gave it a pull and it at least moved a bit. Kept working it and finally got it to start. Once running, it runs strong and powerful. The 4 stroke is a major improvement.
