Solid quality with good design
This OXO wooden spoon is made from beechwood - like all wooden spoons used to be! I know from experience it will last well and be very strong. The nice part is the handle is thick enough and well-designed, making it easy and comfortable to grip, even when stirring heavy batters.

The handle is much larger than expected but nice to hold. Very sturdy.

Loved this spoon but
This OXO wooden spoon was my favorite for mixing cookie dough 🍪 but then, after several months’ use, a big chunk broke off the tip 😕. I was so bummed and actually surprised, since the quality of OXO products is usually excellent, in my experience. I was very careful to not leave it soaking in dishwater, as I know that weakens the wood. Guess my hunt for a wooden spoon as sturdy as the ones my mom and grandma used continues..

Will last a lifetime
The perfect wooden spoon. Sure, you can find an unbranded one for maybe a dollar cheaper, but this should last a lifetime so id recommend getting it from a great brand.

"Now, THAT will work!"
My husband decided to make cookies last weekend. (I almost fainted from shock, but that's another story.) Anyway, he doubled the recipe, so it was very hard to stir the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie batter. He lamented the nylon and silicone spoons we had saying he felt like all of them were going to break as he slowly, but surely, stirred. I told him I'd get him something else for next time. Ha! I ordered this spoon hoping it would be hearty and strong. Holy moley...that it is. When I took it out of the package, my husband exclaimed the title of this review! He also said if this solid and well-made spoon won't stir the cookies next time, he'll need to stop doubling the recipe. This is a substantial, stir-whatever-you-want-because-this-thing-is-a-beast wooden spoon. Now to make myself hand wash rather than place it in the dishwasher as it'll prolong its life.... Strong and Well Made!!
Took a while to get here due to EU clearance rules etc...yawn, yawn...5 days for 1 wooden spoon... but when it finally arrived I was really impressed. It’s a strong, well made spoon, just the right size for stirring a good sized pan of soup or stew. I think it will last a long time. It doesn’t seem like it would crack any time soon. Overall I’m very satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend it. Great price too for what it is. Well worth it!!
