Hi there Jane ,we are the importers ,who sell to the public ,they come with 8 speed as you see ,but many people fit 9 or 10 speed cassette ,it is easy to do ,and takes 10 min ,the decals come off ,just peel them off ,many people also do that ,They are far stronger than any bike wheels , magnesium is very strong ,so they do not buckle at all ,How much friction ,not sure what that means to be honest ,We have been selling them now through many online company's ,and have had great feedback Hope this helps .any more info please ask Louise
