Never had an issue. Works with my computer easily. It isn’t noisy at all. It doesn’t really make a sound. It connects right away when I plug it in. I never felt that it was hot or overheating. It helps me keep my artwork in another location, in case my computer decides to die. Great for backup.

Fast, portable, ready to go. Good price for the storage and speed ($119 for 2TB@1GB per second). The color (red) happens to match one of my peripherals, which is an interesting happenstance. Light and extremely portable. This is, upon initial use, a positive experience in both product quality and shipping expeditiousness. I'll update the review if there are further details to report. Very good!

small and very handy

I bought this storage expecting it to be about an iPod Touch sized SSD but it is actually really small. I like how it comes with a cable included but wish it was a USB C to USB C cable rather than a USB C to USB A and a converter to USB-C but I am just nit-picking at this point. The storage comes in FAT32 format making it easy to move files in and out across devices. However, you can optimize for NTFS format for Windows-Only. Additionally, I like how fast it reads and write, making it easy to transfer files and with a lot of archives saved on my computer, I can easily life a lot of storage out from my internal storage to this external storage.

Excellent Value. Comes with Cable, adapter for USBC to USB3. Typically drives deliver 7-10% less formatted capacity than their advertised size, BUT THIS ONE REPORTS 2.13 TB of SPACE for a Drive advertised as 2TB!! How do you beat that ? Excellent Storage Capacity. Does not get hot. And it is noticeably physically smaller than Samsung and SanDisk SSDs. I usually balk at giving 5 stars, because there is always some type of flaw, design if not engineering, but this thing is awesome. I keep looking for an excuse to buy another one.

My first Kingston product was a flashdrive I bought 15 years ago. In that time, it outlasted 3 other flashdrives from other manufacturers and one 4T external harddrive. Flashdrives are only as good as the quality of the memory material. Apparently Kingston uses very high quality material Every Kingston product I bought is still working, including that 15+ year old drive. Zero problems, high quality, fast read/write speeds, these are just excellent products that I wholeheartedly trust.

I bought three of these and I'm returning 2 for refunds. This third was given as a gift and I'm trying to retirieve it. The first one (2T) was used to archive a 1.16T folder with my photograph archives. First it said it would take 4 hrs for the backup (on an Apple M4 Pro mini) but it quickly moved to one hour. Four hours later it was slower than a turtle and it actually seemed to be losing data. I was unable to stop it or eject it and followed all the technical advice and realized this was not the SSD for archival puposes. Turned the computer off, wiped the drive and made refund arrangements. This morning I tried the same process with the identical #2 drive. The computer didn't see the drive in spite of changing ports and rebooting. When I attached another cable (not the one supplied) the drive was immediately recognized and I began the file transfer. Again it said one hour to complete the job. After an hour only 1/4 of the job was completed and the tranfer rate was down to a very, v e r y slow crawl. So...between the unusable cable and the very slow transfer rate I realized this drive was not for me. There are some other complaints about the supplied cable and adapter. If you must use this drive I'd suggest a good, short, Thunderbolt 3 cable. Oh well, as some have stated...you get what you pay for. I'll now pay the premium for the much more reliable Samsung T7.

Genial, buen adaptador y super pequeño. En velocidad moviendo archivos (juegos y música) mi laptop llego a 350MB/s en escritura variando en archivos y subcarpetas, etc bajando mucho por momentos pero manteniendo supongo que un promedio por encima de los 200MB/s Esperaba más pero pienso que pueda ser por los puertos de mi laptop y no por el disco duro y aun así fue una mejoría enorme. Por tema de conectividad ahora pasa por un usb Hub con varios puertos pero por lo que pude observar no varia o al menos no significativamente su rendimiento por pasar por el USB hub (aunque si es uno 3.2 de 10gbs) Aquí guardo mis sonidos porque produzco música, mi bibliotecas que a veces mezclo como DJ, una copia extra de seguridad fotos y documentos y además guardo juegos. Para formatear fue maravilloso que pude mantener juegos como cuphead y cyberpunk 2077 intactos para jugarlos a un click en un compu formateada, sin embargo algunos otros ya no funcionaron sin las instalaciones anteriores a pesar de tener todos los archivos. De cualquier manera incluso volver a meter o sacar o mover cosas así en el disco duro ahora es más rápido y fácil y mi hhd puede descansar y solo conectarse para mi backup de archivos en lugar de tenerlo trabajando todo el día. Hasta creo que si eres muy hardcore con archivos y juegos vale la pena el de 2TB aunque yo no quise gastar tanto cuando puedo arreglármelas con otro hhd de 1tb que tengo para mis otros archivos y 1tb en la laptop para tener copia de seguridad de casi todo.

Awesome tiny external SSD! Got the 2TB version for a NAS I built with a Raspberry Pi 4. Connects via USB A (but comes with adapter to USB type c) so it is compatible with practically anything. Very fast transfer speeds! Looks great, very small compact form factor. It would be great for travel or on the go. Good value for money, still quite expensive though. I trust that it won't fail (eg. if dropped, it seems durable).
