Review: Great Investment - I’m using the Vellgoo Max 60 Pint dehumidifier in my basement, and it works great. I never had a musty smell down there, but humidity was always an issue—especially since I keep the basement door open and it draws in moisture from the rest of the house as well as the basement itself. This unit has no problem keeping up and maintaining the humidity at the level I set. I don’t use the drain hose, so I just empty the bucket. It fills up fairly quickly, which shows how much moisture it’s pulling out of the air. The machine runs smoothly, isn’t too loud, and the controls are really easy to use. Overall, this dehumidifier has been a solid investment. It not only keeps the basement dry but helps the rest of the house feel more comfortable too.

In fact it's gotten the humidity in our finished basement below where it needs to be despite being in a small side room with only a fan to help it move air in and out. Much quieter than past units I've had that were less effective. There are a lot of different functions but it's easy to figure out how to use it. And I use the included garden hose adapter to run it straight to a floor drain, so I never have to worry about dumping the tank myself. No problems with the hose connection leaking either. This baby runs like a boss and I don't even need to use the highest fan setting to get very good results. Beware of other units that advertise very high amount of water removed per 24 hours. Some of them are assuming that the room is at max humidity and only within a very tight temperature range and so on. You have to read the fine print on those claims. This one will actually do a good job in the real world, and not break a sweat.

I’m using the Vellgoo Max 60 Pint dehumidifier in my basement, and it works great. I never had a musty smell down there, but humidity was always an issue—especially since I keep the basement door open and it draws in moisture from the rest of the house as well as the basement itself. This unit has no problem keeping up and maintaining the humidity at the level I set. I don’t use the drain hose, so I just empty the bucket. It fills up fairly quickly, which shows how much moisture it’s pulling out of the air. The machine runs smoothly, isn’t too loud, and the controls are really easy to use. Overall, this dehumidifier has been a solid investment. It not only keeps the basement dry but helps the rest of the house feel more comfortable too.
