Didn't expect to be so impressed!
I never thought I needed one, but it has been well worth it. I did loads of research, looking for a reason not to buy one more than anything else! In the end, it just came down to the cost. I purchased the 2024 wireless satin nickel option and got a good deal in the Black Friday sale. at less than half the current price of the latest version.SETUPThe backplate and screws are included; it was easy to mount beside the front door, on the wooden frame, and it covered the holes where the old push-button bell had been. Setup is pretty easy, just download the Ring App, scan the QR code on the box and follow the simple instructions to connect over wifi. There are loads of videos online too.The unit was almost fully charged when I received it, so I only had to plug it in for 10 minutes, and the battery is still at more than 75% over a month later. There is an option to buy a separate adhesive backplate to avoid the screws/drilling, but I'd suggest checking out the included backplate first, as you might be able to use that and just order some adhesive strips.CAMERA & APPThe camera and video quality are excellent. There is a month's free trial of the full Ring package, so you can try all the extra functions and decide if you need them or not. You still get the main functions and live images on the free plan, but no recordings. I didn't buy the indoor chime; the live notification alert on my phone is all I need. You can also choose to have it on silent if you want to avoid any particular visitors!I did change the default motion settings, as there was an audible external alert (windchime) every time my neighbours walked by (at a distance) or went to their bin. I felt it was too intrusive, but it would be helpful for others who want to make it obvious to anyone outside that they have been detected.PROS & CONSI love how it looks, how simple it is to set up and use, the quality of the images, battery life, and the overall functionality. It is perfect for my needs without all the Ring extras, such as the indoor chime and additional cameras etc.It has been invaluable when I haven't received packages from various online retailers. Thanks to the camera, I can now provide proof of non-delivery on the date/time the courier has claimed, which has made the refund process much easier. No cons, just observations.... The unit was bigger than I expected compared to my puny old doorbell, and once mounted, it is very secure. The app dashboard can initially be a bit tricky to navigate when looking to change some of the more detailed alert types and notifications. Don't throw out the box or internal packaging without removing the orange release key and charging cable!I would not pay the full amount, which seems to be nearly £180 with some retailers. I paid less than half this, and I am delighted with it all so far. The only thing I am considering adding is a rain cover due to the pollen and gunk shed by the nearby cedar tree in wet weather.

Improved but cost of keeping videos is way too expensive
Excellent a lot better pictures than the old ones, they do still miss some things, easy to use and mount, good response, good sound quality. A bit expensive especially when it cost you to save videos which is an expensive monthly cost.

Absolutely Brilliant
Ring reviews haven't always been positive over the years with stories of poor connections to the app and long delays before your phone notifies you of somebody being at the door. This is all a thing of the past thankfully.Firstly, the set up process is super easy. You simply scan a code on the box or back of door bell and you'll be guided through each step from how to install the doorbell itself, to setting up the app on your phone and what each of the settings do. Scan the QR code and follow the instructions on screen. There is a voice over coming out of the doorbell also to tell you when it's being set up and complete. Honestly, there is nothing difficult whatsoever about this and even if you don't get it (which you will!) then you can watch Youtube videos for more help. The hardest part is drilling the wall outside which if your like me and hate DIY will take forever. But that's because I'm awful at DIY and hate it! However, I drilled four holes using the back plate as a guide, whacked in the plugs and screwed on the plate. Perhaps Im not a DIY disaster after all. The wife needs to reward with a lifetime of chocolate for this!!Once the plate is on the wall, charging the ring doorbell is easy. It comes with an orange key shaped like a letter J...like a hook, which pressed into a hole underneath the doorbell to release it off the plate. You then bring it in and charge it up!As for how long it takes to charge...well...I've not done it from 0% upwards yet as it had about 85% charge when it arrived. It comes with a cable for charging by the way. I imagine it'll take a couple of hours to fully charge but do this later on at night when you're less likely to get visitors and you won't miss anybody at the door. There are many settings. You can share the doorbell with others, so once you've got it all set up on your phone you can share with others. Do all the setting up on your phone first whilst the doorbell is indoors and on the table in front of you, otherwise you'll be in and out testing settings. You can have motion detection on and you SHOULD! When it detects a person or car etc it will record a short video until they leave the area. You can have motion alerts on or off. I have the off because it drives me mad letting me know every time somebody stands in our driveway (our parking spaces are right up to the front of our houses..and our neighbour has to stand in our parking space when getting out of his car...so it would pick up his 'motion'). So I turned motion detection ON but motion 'alerts' off which means its recording anybody near the house and recording it but not actually telling me about it as it happens. Because it doesn't matter as I'm at home a lot and can see them from where I sit anyway. You'll need to play with this to suit. But you can set your doorbell to HOME or AWAY. When home for example you can set up alerts as I've described above...but when Im away I press the away button and it can be set to notify me of anybody in the driveway for example (different settings you can tweak). This is a great idea.We bought the Ring camera too for the back of the house and set up was easy and it works in tandem with the doorbell. We also bought the Chime separately. I recommend this if for example you have guests babysitting and don't want them to have access to your doorbell's camera. For example, the mother in law.... she doesn't need to see the camera when she's at her own house so why give her access to it? But without access to it she can't hear anything when somebody comes to the door unless you have a chime, because otherwise the doorbell is ringing the home owners phone! So get a chime...they are brilliant! The camera quality is good.... don't expect 4K quality...you don't need it to be. As long as it's clear day and night, which it is, and you can see people's faces and car registration plates etc, then that's all you need. It's the same with a dash cam. You're not Steven Spielberg ... it needs to be clear but not 4K cinematic!!The app is great because you can see the wifi strength and battery power left. How long battery lasts depends on the settings you use. If you have got it detecting movement constantly instead of on the lowest setting, and taking snapshots all the time then you won't get as long on the battery. Wifi signal depends on where you're router is and the speed of your broadband. Lots of people have great broadband nowadays. We are on Full Fibre 500 which is fast, so even when the kids are draining the internet we still get good doorbell connection. We've never had it drop signal. With good internet, your phone will notify you of somebody being at the door within two seconds. You can also set your phone to get drop down notifications when somebody is at the door, OR for your phone to actually ring like it's a phone call. We have it on the latter, as you're more likely to hear/see it and answer it as a call and can easily miss a notification. One cool thing is that if you have an Apple Watch, you'll see a photo of the person at your door appear on your watch when they press the door bell. You can choose from a ton of features including the ability to have Ant and Dec talk to them as soon as they press the doorbell to let them know you're on your way etc. There's xmas themes and plain chimes. Lots to choose from.Sound quality is good also. There's no latency, so you won't end up talking over each other like a terrible TV satellite link up because of delays.Another cool feature is being able to set ZONES. My neighbour was moaning that his ring doorbell was picking up the cars driving past in the street, but that's because he didn't select which ZONE should activate the motion sensor. What this means is, during set up (and any point you like afterwards) you can see your driveway / street in the app and draw a zone on the screen where you want it to activate the motion alerts. For us, we want notifications when somebody is directly outside the door and in any of the two parking spots outside but NOT the neighbour's parking spots which are clearly visible as its a wide angle (fisheye) lens on the doorbell. So we draw a blue shape around the area we want to be detected. This allows us to ignore anybody driving past on the street. Finally, there's a parcels alert which tells you when somebody is at your door with a parcel. The list goes on, and ironically I have to leave this review now to answer the door.Get the ring doorbell.....it's incredible and come a long way since V1 several years ago.My version is the latest one in a nice brown/copper colour.

Type C charging for my sanity!
The new Ring Battery Doorbell in Venetian Bronze is a huge aesthetic improvement! It has a rich, dark finish that looks really classy, and I definitely prefer it over my old standard nickel model. My front door has gone from looking serviceable to looking sophisticated.Setting it up was really simple. I had it mounted, connected to my Chime, and happily linked to all my Alexas in a matter of minutes. If even I can manage it without technical support, anyone can!The features are great! The picture quality is crisp at 1440p, and the live view runs with no lag whatsoever, which is a massive relief. The "Head to Toe View" is excellent for making sure the postie actually left the parcel and didn't just hide behind the hedge! The colour night vision works brilliantly, giving proper detail after sundown. The two way sound is loud and clear and even has a feature to call your phone when the bell is rung!I'm delighted they finally switched to USB C charging. It's so much more convenient than rooting around for a dusty old micro USB cable. While it's a little slow to charge, I can easily overlook this because it holds power well between charges. Much longer than my older model. My only point of anxiety is the tiny quick release tool. If I ever lose that little plastic key, I assume I'll have to hire a safecracker to get the doorbell off the wall!Overall, it's a brilliant blend of high quality features and sophisticated design.I'm really glad I upgraded,, especially considering I got it on sale at half the price! Absolute bargain!

Great for home security
I’m really pleased with my Ring doorbell and indoor camera. The subscription is straightforward to set up, and the doorbell was easy to mount on the external wall.I also managed to get an offer that included an indoor camera, which has been a great addition. As well as using it for extra home security, I actually use the indoor camera to keep an eye on my two cats when I’m out, which is an unexpected bonus!Being able to check what’s happening at home from my phone gives me that extra bit of reassurance, whether I’m checking the front door or making sure the cats are behaving themselves! 😂Overall, really happy with both cameras. Easy to install, useful features and great for both home security and keeping an eye on the pets.

I’m extremely impressed with the Ring Battery Video Doorbell and would happily give it five stars. It has been a fantastic addition to my home, providing extra security and peace of mind by allowing me to see and respond to visitors from anywhere. The wireless design made installation quick and simple, with no need for complicated wiring or professional help. The video quality is excellent, providing a clear view of visitors with the useful head-to-toe perspective. This makes it much easier to see packages left at the door as well as people approaching. The motion detection works well, and notifications arrive quickly through the app, allowing me to check activity even when I’m away from home. The two-way audio is another great feature, with clear sound that makes it easy to communicate with visitors, delivery drivers, or anyone at the door. The battery-powered design is convenient, and the device feels well built and suitable for outdoor use.The Ring app is easy to navigate, with useful settings that allow you to customise alerts and camera preferences to suit your needs. Perfect Doorbell for Elderly Relatives
I bought this for my elderly aunt so she could monitor her front door whilst she goes on her daily shopping trips, and it's we both are extremely pleased with the new version of the Ring Door Bell.Previously, we got her a Blink Doorbell, but after it constantly needed new batteries every 3 days, costing a fortune, and having an app that is hard to use, we finally upgraded her to Ring as we too have a Ring doorbell, but an older model. This new model is miles better than the one we have on our house, as it now uses USB-C which charges much faster, is less fiddly than the old micro-USB and you can easily buy one anywhere. You also do not have to mess around with tiny screws to take the doorbell off for charging, it comes with a quick-release tool that just unclips the unit. This made it much easier for my aunt to handle, and it easily just snaps back into place with a tad bit a force. The video quality is crisp (day and night), and then notifications are instant. We have her doorbell on our family account, so you can switch between different locations so we can check in and ensure she is safe. The app is intuitive enough that I was able to teach my aunt how to use it quickly and so she too can check who is at her door. You do need a Ring Protect Subscription to use view recorded footage, which is worth it for the added security. We mounted this on brick, so be warned if you have solid brick walls, you will need a powerful drill. If you can, mount it on a wooden door frame to save you the hassle. It picks people up as soon as they come into the front garden, and you can also adjust the zones so it doesn't spam you with notifications when somebody walks by. It has never dropped Wifi connection, and it is instant when you want to view footage live on your doorbell. In short, it is very sleek, easy to use, and a vital security device. Also, great value for money.

Ormai fondamentale in casa mia
