D'manoose is a naturally occurring sugar that sticks to the bacteria (E. Coli) that commonly causes UTI's. It is then 'flushed' out of the bladder when you urinate. I have suffered from constant urine infections for 4 years, 2 of which, I was on a low dose antibiotic which did absolutely nothing in terms of relieving symptoms. It was such a pain going back to the doctor every week, just to get a urine sample sent off to see which bacteria it contained, to see which antibiotic will (hopefully) eliminate the infection. Needless to say, 4 years later & nothing had cured me. Back pain, abdominal pain, not being able to go out as I needed to go backwards & forwards to the toilet all day. It was miserable to say the least. Antibiotics also kill the 'friendly' micro-organisms which can then lead to increased risk of yeast infections amongst other gross things in women. Long story short (well, shorter...) I ended up going into retention & needed a catheter to pee. I was diagnosed with a condition that meant the retention was permanent & that meant that I was now having constant infections due to the catheter that antibiotics wouldn't cure. To say the pain was excruciating was an understatement. Whilst conducting hours of research to find some sort of relief I came across d'manoose & thought, after all these years, surely, something available on Amazon, that's natural, just wouldn't cure me. Surely it was too good to be true, the reviews had to be false? Well, I've had a catheter for 3.5 years now & I've been using this for 2 years. In those 2 years, I've had 3 infections & they've gone within 12 hours of upping the dosage when symptomatic. I take 1 teaspoon a day dissolved in a glass of water (whilst always drinking plenty of water during the course of the day to flush the bladder out) and 3 teaspoons (dissolved in a glass of water) a day when symptomatic. I avoid anything cranberry related as I find that can irritate the bladder further. The recommended dosage is * For treatment of UTIs: 1 teaspoon (about 2 grams) for adults, ½ to 1 teaspoon for children, dissolved in a glass of water and repeated every two to three hours. Continue for two to three days after symptoms have disappeared. * For preventing recurring infections: Start with the dosages listed above for treatment, then gradually reduce the dose, if possible. * For prevention of post-intercourse UTIs: Take 1 tablespoon one hour prior to intercourse and another tablespoon immediately afterward.

Miraculous stuff. After being left with permanent nerve damage from 1 Nitrofurantoin tablet (an antibiotic commonly prescribed for cystitis) l was desperate to find another way as l'm now terrified of antibiotics. This only works if your infection is caused by E-coli, as 90% of cystitis is. I take before and after sex and it mostly works. I've had 3 infections this year, which is good for me. However l've also been able to rid myself of those infections using this product. I follow a strict regime as my cases are stubborn: just drink water and eat no sugar (which E-coli thrives on). I take much bigger doses than recommended; up to a tbsp and hold it for up to an hr then drink 2 pints of water to flush it through. I also alkalise my system by taking a Rennie with each dose. I'm not suggesting anyone try this, but l know what it's like to be truly desperate, especially when the infection starts heading for your kidneys. Update 7/16: no infections for 1.5 years after additionally following Angela Kilmartin's bottle-washing technique in her book on UTI's - available on Amazon.

Good quality mannose but rather expensive. .

My 5 year old daughter has suffered reoccurring ecoli bladder infections for over 2 years now. She was on a low dosage of antibiotic for a year with no infections, but as soon as she came off of it the infection came back. Her infections are so bad that only 2 antibiotics work and I was petrofied that she would become immune. After the last infection and a course of antibiotics the infection was still there very slightly. In the past this would turn into a worse infection and require injections of antibiotic over 5 days, which was very distressing for my daughter and myself. After many sleepless nights of worry I researched D-Mannose and came across this particular product. My daughters Paediatrician gave me the go ahead to try it when I sent him some medical reviews on it. A week after using it the urine sample came back completely normal! Infact it was perfect! The Paediatrician was as excited about it as I was! I now test her urine everyday with urine sticks at home and continue her on the maintenance amount (i halved it from the adult dose) and 3 weeks later she is still clear. I have shared this information with friends who suffer from ecoli bases infections and am hoping they get the same results I have. Just wish you could get bigger bottles, as this only lasts 4/5 weeks.

Hello. On the occasions that I've bought this brand of D-Mannose it has worked brilliantly. I've also tried D-Mannose from a company called Natura direct on Ebay and it only provided very mild and temporary relief so in future I'll only buy D-Mannose from Waterfall D-Mannose. If you're reading this you probably want something that works fast and is reliable as much as I do. In my experience this brand is what does that. I used to get cystitus the week before a period every month - goodness knows why - the doctors didn't. After using this as a cure twice I didn't have any cystitus for a couple of years and that was without any low daily maintenance dose too (apparently some people find a little bit every day keeps any reoccurence at bay). Unfortunately "The Dreaded" is back. Thank goodness this firm is still going. Anti-biotics haven't been much help before in my experience and they're not something you want to take on a regular basis unless you have to anyway so you can probably see why I'm glad to be buying this stuff again. Isn't it fun being a woman?

For almost 2 years I have been suffering with recurrent cystitis. I have had every form of antibiotic thrown at me and I have now become resistent to a few. I have had ultrasounds, scans, blood tests, everything and there is nothing wrong with me or my bladder its just my bladder cannot fight off infection as normal. I was a bit sceptical about this sort of product as I had been to a health food shop before to cure my cystitis and it didnt work, if anything my infection became worse. Anyway when I got in contact with Sweet Cures they were extremely helpful and sent me a huge email about triggers for cystitis and preventatives. So after this advice I decided to order both the powder for 'emergencies' and the tablets. I did this back in May and started taking the tablets twice a day as 'maintenance'. I actually didnt get cystitis during the time I was taking the tablets. If I felt like I was getting cystitis (You can always tell in advance because of the slight pain) I would take the powder and it had immediate effect and you felt fine instantly. I did come off of the tablets as I ran out and lone behold my cystitis did return. Whether it actually works or you just think it works physiologically it still made a difference and definitely improved the condition of my bladder. I do believe the powder is more effective than the tablets so I have ordered more powder and will be taking one teaspoon a day. The only downfall of this product is the price. Two tubs of powder has cost me the best part of £40.00 and if Im taking a teaspoon a day I am unsure how long a tub will last. I do urge people to go and checked out though if they are experiencing recurrent cystitis. You may have to scream to make the doctors listen to you but its worth doing.

I suffered with water infections for around 6 years, I even had two operations to stretch my bladder and lived off of anti-biotics for years. It literally took over my life, that is until I discovered this miracle cure. I have the tried the tablets but I feel like the powder works more quickly to relieve the onset of any symptoms. I can honestly say that in the last 3 years I have not had another infection and it is all down to this product. This has been an absolute life saver for me and allowed me to live life again, I would highly recommend this to anyone that suffered as badly as I did. The pain from cystitis is something I hope I will never have to experience again as long as I have this in my life.

totally agree with all the other reviews, it does prevent cystitis after sex. and definitely worth buying this one, as you only need 1 tea spoon in a glass of water or mug of tea (i take mine in redbush tea, so I cannot taste it)other cheaper brands I've tried are less effective and you will need two teaspoons, so this one is worth spending the extra money as it'll last longer. D mannose, thank you so much for saving my relationship, which was seriously at risk of crumbling due to me being terrified of sex knowing it would lead to awful cystitis. This powder is a little pot of gold.
