When you use the descaling liquid how does the small plastic thing work i mean what role does it play in the descaling process

I think it is to protect against corrosion of the capsule holder and to direct the liquid evenly through it. There is a you tube page which explains how this process works. Don't forget after the Descaling is finished pour it in your kettle, boil, and it Descales it too 👍

It will vary on how much you use the machine. On mine the switch light turned orange instead of green when it warmed up. We had the machine about 8 months before we had to do it and we use use it once almost every day sometimes twice.

Does the kit come with the orange funnel or is it just the liquids?

No funnel either I did mine with vinagar
