Useful tool to get consistent connections
I am used to using lineman pliers to pre-twist wires when using the screw on caps. If have found this to be the best way to make sure a wire isn't going to come loose before covering it up with the cap where I can't inspect the contacts. Note, I do minor electrical personally and am not an electrician.Using this is simple and I get nice consistent turns on the wire. There is a bit of a learning curve for the angle to be on the wires, how fast to spin, how many turns to spin, etc. I still use a pair of lineman pliers, or any pliers would do to keep hold of the insulated segment an inch or so in from the bare. This allows for enough room to get several nice twists making a secure connection and with good electrical contact so it won't heat up in use.The plastic tool for the twist caps works alright. I just still prefer to put those on manually. If I were doing a whole lot of these connections every day then my preference could be toward the tool.Overall, once you get the hang of it, this tool makes for excellent and consistent connections.

New favorite gadget
My husband can't stop raving about the Wire Twister Tool for the drill. He says he never new he needed this! This handy gadget makes wiring a breeze—no more struggling with wires coming apart or using duct tape. He just attaches it to an electric drill and it does the twisting for him, which really speeds things up and saves a lot of effort. It's super sturdy, made from stainless steel, and has made rewiring less of a chore. Plus, it's compatible with all common electric drills. This tool has definitely become his new favorite for any wiring job!

Works, but hard to handle
I was able to twist 12 guage residential house wire with one of the metal tools, but only by holding the wires on the insulated portion with pliers. I could not keep the wires from spinning by just holding them by hand. I did not try the plastic tool as I previously found an identical plastic tool to be completely ineffective for 12 ga. solid wire. Maybe the plastic tool works for stranded wire. The tools come in small plastic bags. Maybe with practice I'd get better at using this, but right out of the box I was not super impressed.

Needs truth
These "tools" did not work at all for me. did not twist wire nuts or wires. I would return them but not worth the money.

Works, but mediocre
The castings they used to make the 2 wire twister tools are pretty rough and really should have been cleaned up better at the factory. In fact if your chuck is really picky like some ultra-portable 6V drills the casted (silver-colored) tools might not even fit. They can be cleaned up at home with a small grinding wheel but it's a pain. The other issue is the gauge of wire supported ranges from thick to thicker. I would have thought one tool was for small solid-core wire while the other was for the beefier stuff like 10-12 gauge, but no, they are both the same and thin wires will need to be folded over to work. The third tool, for twisting on wire nuts, is pretty nice but be sure to use it at extremely low speed because it will certainly break if it sees too much force. It's just plastic. I will keep these handy wherever my drill goes because if there's one thing I hate its twisting or untwisting electrical wiring with hand pliers.

Doesn’t work
It does twist the wires unless you just use a wire nut.

Makes wire twisting faster and cleaner
A good set for wire twisting. It certainly makes the job go faster, however it may take practice and getting used to. Depending on the wire guage, you need to tweak the speed/torque of your drill or impact driver to get a better result. I highly recommend using pliers to hold the wires.

Saves your fingers & wrists
Item is as described and shown in pictures in the listing. This will work on any wire nut connector with side wings. By just holding your wires together and place wire nut on the end then, with this tool inserted in your drill, you can place it on the wire nut and slowly rotate it when squeezing the drill trigger. It will screw on the wire nut and also start to twist together the wires in hand, which is what you want. This works awesome and if you're working on a big remodel or new construction job, it's a MUST HAVE!
