Expensive but worth it.
I had a stock factory pump in the galley of my Catalina 30 that needed priming every time we came to the boat. I had one of these in the head and it always worked perfectly. I took a gamble that it wasn't an air leak or bad hose and replaced the pump in the galley. It pumps a nice stream of water and works every time. Expensive but worth it.

Exact replacement of original equipment on my boat.
Exact replacement for the original that was in my 83 Catalina 25. Works great, easy install, for the people in the other reviews that say it cracked or leaks... most likely it’s user error, you only need to hand tighten the lock ring.. no need to over tighten it. That’s probably how they cracked their.. couldn’t be more happy with this new faucet for my Catalina.

UPDATE to - Have not installed or used this yet, but as ...
Have not installed or used this yet, but as purchased, it does not appear to come with all hardware necessary for installation, specifically lock ring or base gasket. It appears these items are extra and need to be ordered as part of the Spares Kit - for another $40.UPDATE - after receiving the lock ring separately, was able to successfully install pump. Worked great for about a total of one month of use at which time the base cracked and started leaking profusely. Would not draw water at that time. Based on the first reviewer's review, sounds like a similar problem. Seems a bit fragile.

Looks good and works well.
To replace the 45 year old Flipper Pump hat I thought had lost suction. Turned out air was infiltrating the supply tube where the old pump and tube meet. I could have returned the new pump but it worked so well and looked so good I just kept it.

Travel Trailer drinking water spout
The media could not be loaded. We used this water pump for our fresh drinking water in our travel trailer. It has a good flow rate and can fill a coffee pot pretty quickly. Cut out hole was 2 1/8”. Overall very happy with it

Missing parts
My delivery did not include a gasket or a template. If I decide to not cut a hole in the countertop, could I use this pump and tubing on a water container? I am not sure if I could even find one that was the correct size. Sounds like returning the pump now is not an option.

Defective pumps
I had the same model of the Whale pump for 15 years or so and it worked fine. Then it started leaking water from the base. So I bought a new version of the same Whale design. It worked for about 8 months, then started leaking. I examined the base and found a crack. Use of a sealant did not help. I had lost the receipt for that one, so, foolishly, I bought yet another. That started to leak from the base within a couple months. No crack visible; water issued from a couple of the screws on the base. What's going on? It's an expensive piece of hardware and should last longer. I'll try to return it.
