Sony MDR-ZX310AP On-Ear Overhead Wired Headphones with Microphone, Swivel Fold, 3.5mm Headphone Jack - Metallic Black

I brought a pair of these upwards of 5 years ago and they had reached the end of their life. I'm a bit of a creature of habit, so I was very happy when I found out that they still sold them (or incredibly similar) all this time later. I listen to music on average around 5-6 hours a day on a mix of headphones, phone or speaker system and I've never had a problem with these headphones, which is clear from going back to them. I have to say though, a new pair was like breaking in leather shoes. The adjusters are stiffer and they aren't stretched or fitted to my head and the earpieces actually click back into place which is nice. The biggest shock was the 'pads' on the ears. On my old headphones, I'd worn them so often that they'd cracked and the foam had broken up so I replaced them with some spare ones my Dad had off of some expensive broken Sony Volvo headphones. I was so used to these more expensive ones that the little circle ones it comes with felt hard against my ears. But considering for at least 4 years I had the original ones, it couldn't have been that bad, I've just got used to better quality. Needless to say, I transferred my better ones over and now my headphones feel perfect. (It's really easy to switch them over if you want to) I also find the built-in mic works well and I use it when on online calls on my laptop or calling people on my mobile and I've never had an issue. For noise cancellation... I'm not sure? I listen to my music loud enough that I cut out the outside world anyway but they don't actively cancel noise like more expensive models. So, for the price they give good sound and fit and pack up small enough to fit in a small (phone-sized) handbag. I'd definitely recommend it for those looking for headphones without all the bells and whistles or on a budget. Hopefully, in another 5 years, they still make them and I can get another pair...

The headset is quite compact and comfetable on both years. The padding help keep the ears soft and pain free. Good quality sound and mic records recordings. Good for Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams & Online Conference Calls. Note: This is suitable for new sound cards that has a single jack for audio & mic. If you have an older jack that requires audio and mic seperately, this will not work fine, you will have to get a audio spliter, that will sonnect the sing;e jack and divide teh audio and mic streames seperately. But if you get a external USB sound adaptor, which has a single jack input, will help connect this via a USB port. Got this for my Raspbarry Pi device, but found that it does not have a proper audio input jack or built in sound card funtionality, ended up having to buy a USB audio adapter to use this on the Raspbury Pi in order to use Zoom, Skype & Microsoft Teams. Works perfectly and a comfertable fit on the years. Meterial seems to be of good quality pastic as well.

This is a small set of headphones that deliver a really good sound. I have used Sony headphones for years, this is the smallest ones I've probably had but for everyday wear and for getting off to sleep listening to music, I'm glad they are not bulkier. I have small ears and they are a very good comfortable fit and I was surprised by the sound quality especially for the price I paid. I will stress again they are good for everyday running around when you don't want a bulky pair of cans making your ears sweat or to wear your best set in bed! This feels like I'm hardly wearing anything in a good way. They make a great monitor headphone if you are working on the computer but honestly I think the sound quality is potentially very good. Sony know what to concentrate on when it comes to sound and I think the noise cancellation is great. I would have loved a volume control for sure as I use them on the phone more than anything, but the pause/play does what it needs too. I always adjust the equaliser sound on the app/device I'm playing through and this is the best way to get the best out of the headphones. This is where the potential of it comes in especially if listening to music. If you can utilise that option you're in for a little treat. Oh and the cans can fold in towards the arch which is quite cute and useful for tucking away in a bag or a draw.

Love the headphones, sound great! Going back from wireless to wires has a nostalgia to it!

May be smaller in size to what appears but still what I wanted

You get what you pay for. Quality is ok but don’t expect audiophile sound quality for the price. A little disappointed but shouldn’t complain for £15 and will do for listening to sky sports, films, tv shows on the iPad but not for music.

I'm heavily invested in Sony camera gear and needed something highly portable to take with me. I chose mostly for that purpose, and wasn't so worried about music quality. These gel nicely visually with my stuff. They function fine and the short cable is about right (longer cables can be a hazard when plugged into gear). Only negative is they feel very plasticky and fragile. Although designed to be fold-up, surely they should be built to withstand being chucked in a bag without extra protection. I don't think they'll last long if not kept in a pouch. But at the price I'm happy. If compact size is important, you have a safe place to store them, and you like the Sony name, then give them a try.

These are great headphones, they are comfortable, lightweight, and collapse easily. For sound quality, they are very good; I find them to produce excellent quality for all of the music I listen to (which is a very wide variety from bass-heavy pop to treble-heavy classical). Of course these don't provide much noise isolation, but I like to be aware of my surroundings anyways. The button and built-in microphone are also very handy tools to have, and work quite well. I do find that sound quality for phone calls is relatively poor in my opinion, but don't plan on using them much for that anyways. In regards to looks and fashion, at first I thought that the lime green would stand out too much or clash with my clothing, but I find that the little accent that it provides is just fine, making them look like higher-end headphones. To summarize, I love these headphones, and would gladly buy them again for the purposes of listening to music. For voice chatting, I would not purchase these.

The sound quality of this headphone is good, and it's very comfortable to wear for long periods. Build quality feels solid, and it works just as expected. The only thing that would make this even better is if it came with a storage bag or case for easier carrying. Overall, still a great purchase and I’m happy with it.
