Great item to have if you want sharp knives. Not used everyday (unless you’re a butcher)but maybe once every two weeks or so. If you have inexpensive knives, it’s worth having around. Why did you pick this product vs others?:The extras that came with it.

Instructions that come with the kit are poor. I went back and watched the videos that were provided by Amazon and found them very useful. The kit provides an excellent edge.

The whetstone itself is excellent as far as I can tell. I have just started using it, and I think it’s much better than stones I’ve used since the earth cooled and dinosaurs roamed the Texas forests. However, you’ll see those four little white ceramic sticks that help alignment. One of the four was broken on my product. Strange that this is such a fragile component. My complaint is that I emailed the company, using the email address in the instructions, and it came back undeliverable. Not cool! I’m keeping the product and will try to glue the little white stick. I will update this review if my issue is resolved and someone sends me a new guide stick.

Everything came packed neatly and looked to be good quality.

The media could not be loaded. As a former caterer, it is imperative that my utensils work well. The sharpener did wonders for re-sharpening both my knives as well as my crafting scissors. I loved the safety grips for hands. It was easy to clean away any of the shrapnel left over after sharpening.

Easy to use, just keep the whetstone wet and at the angle you want and you'll get great results. Very cost effective for beginners.
