AltraMen's Escalante Racer 2

Comfortable and lightweight, and they have good ventilation and dry quickly. They are zero drop and have a wide toe box. I'm transitioning to barefoot shoes and these are ideal for longer road runs. I've done a half marathon in them with no issues. Can't say how long they'll last but I've done 45 miles so far and can't see any wear yet. There was a good review on runrepeat and I couldn't find the normal Escalante in my size, so got these instead, and I think they might be better.

I've been working my way through zero drop -> barefoot style trainers. Altra come highly recommended amongst zero-drop, minimalist enthusiast...however if you're after them for their claim to have a wide foot shape, I'd give them a miss!!The Escalante Racer 2 are extremely lightweight, with a low stack height. The upper feels quite hard and has a visibly open knit to it. Great for someone with hot feet, not so good if you want to keep your feet warm!!I found them very narrow in the midfoot and the toe box wasn't wide enough either (UK size 9, 11cm wide feet!).
