ALTRAMen's Via Olympus 2 Road Running Shoe

I bought these for their wide toe box to help with bunions. They are definitely better than a standard toe box shoe in that regard and they have enough cushion for my 67 year old feet. The men's size 9.5 fit my 9.5 size feet perfectly. My largest foot is 102mm x 264mm.

Everyday wear

As a person who spends 8 hours per day working on his feet, I'm always on the lookout for the perfect pair of comfortable shoes, and the Altra Via Olympus 2 men's running shoe exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I slipped them on, I could feel the difference. The cushioning is incredible, providing supreme support and stability. The wide toe box is a game-changer, allowing my toes to splay naturally and preventing any discomfort or blisters. The girp is fantastic. Plus, they're surprisingly lightweight for a shoe with so much cushioning. I've never experienced such comfort in a shoe before. These shoes are a game-changer, and I can't recommend them enough to runners or people like me who work on their feet and are looking for top-notch performance and comfort! NOTE: The shoe is marketed as being black in color. They are more of a medium to dark charcoal and not a true “black”. See my photos of the show next to true black items for comparison and reference. This was my only issue with the shoe, thus the 4 stars. If this isn’t an issue, do yourself a favor and buy a pair!

The toebox was too big and my left knee hurt with these. Not for me

Immediately upon trying them on, I was taken aback by their comfort, and found them very supportive on all sides. Although the toe box looked large, my forefoot and toes were well supported, when walking and running. My ankles were also supported but not constricted. As mentioned in other reviews, the “black” is more of a dark grey…I would recommend them, definitely.

I've had many pairs of Altras and these might just be the best so far. Biggest thing for me is the wide toe box which is what sets this brand apart from the others. This means ( as I have learned the hard way) only selecting a shoe with "original fit". Overall, these feel better than the other Olympus pairs I have and much better than my old Torins. Many times, new and improved ends up meaning they messed with perfection but I really think they improved the Olympus this time. So the TWO is a welcome new version. Time will tell on durability.As for the color, Gray wasn't my first pick but Black in 12 wasn't available and was on the fence with Lime. Prefer a neutral look and black looks cleaner longer. Grey looks fine but I know that white sole will not be white for long...Might get the Black directly from Altra. I will say I liked the look of the Black Via Olympus better than the Black Via Olympus TWO.Only wish the price wasn't so high.

ILOVE these shoes. They FIT very well & are very comfortable. The only issue is they are not black, they are blue. I need black to wear for officiating. Please, get them in a true black.

I was looking to start wearing shoes with wide toe box and zero drop to improve my foot health. At first I didn’t know what to expect, or even if I would see any difference.Now I can’t squeeze my toes in a normal shoe anymore and it has only been a month since I’ve started wearing these. When you first wear them you really notice the squishiness of the sole, but you get used to it pretty quick.I’ve combined these with toe socks, and they feel so comfortable. I’ve been switching between these and some vivobarefoot shoes, and they both have their merits.I’m glad ALTRA makes at least one model of their shoes in full black. I can’t understand why they can’t have a black version for all their shoes. This is my only pet peeve about ALTRA shoes in general. Other than that I can’t find any fault in these. People say their durability is questionable, but I guess that’s something I’ll have to wait and find out.

I purchased these Altra shoes in February after a long time looking for a shoe with a wide toe box. having spent 5 weeks on the South West Coast Path my Merrell Shoes gave me a lot of issues so I was glad when I found a replacement shoe to suit. I work in the NHS and decided to use them in my job to make sure everything was okay I now discover both the heal area now have holes in which has now started to give me blisters on both feet.For the initial cost I am not a happy boy
