Nakamichi Excel Series 24k Gold Plated Banana Plug with (6 Feet) 12AWG Speaker Cable Wire 99.9% Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) Heavy Duty Braided for Amplifier Hi-Fi Home Theatre - Black (6ft/1.8m)

The Nakamichi Excel 12 AWG OFC speaker cable delivers near-audiophile-grade performance that rivals premium heavyweights like the Kimber Kable 12TC at a fraction of the cost. When configured as a dual-run, DIY bi-wired setup and paired with high-quality tube amplification, this 99.9% Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) cable punches far above its weight class. It transforms into a high-end conduit capable of driving demanding speakers like Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) to their full acoustic potential. Here is a comprehensive review based on the custom build, construction quality, and acoustic performance of this specific setup.1. Build Quality & Custom AssemblyThe foundation of this review rests on a custom-engineered 10-meter bi-wired run.2. Industrial-Grade Construction: Out of the box, the Nakamichi Excel features a true industrial-grade outer braid. It is rock-solid, durable, and built to withstand physical stress without sacrificing flexibility.3. Bespoke Craftsmanship: By utilizing two separate 10-meter runs, twisting them together, and securing them with zip ties, the cable effectively minimizes external interference.4. Premium Terminations: Terminating the 12 AWG strands with aftermarket pure copper spades—sealed cleanly with heat-shrink tubing inside protective G&S sleeves—ensures an airtight, corrosion-resistant connection. This maximizes signal transfer from the amplifier to the speaker terminals.5. Acoustic Performance When pairing this cable with a tube amplifier running KT88 or KT150 valves to power the resolving four-terminal crossover of B&W speakers, the sonic results are stunning.A. Soundstage & Imaging: The standout characteristic is a deeply holographic soundstage. The presentation is wide, three-dimensional, and accurately separated, allowing instruments to occupy distinct physical spaces in the room.B. Midrange Clarity: The midrange is remarkably clean and transparent. Vocals emerge uncolored by the cable, fully retaining the warm, lush, and organic texture inherent to KT88/KT150 tube topologies.C. Bass Response: Instead of the loose or bloated low-end sometimes associated with budget copper, the bass here is tight, controlled, and highly spontaneous. It tracks fast transient changes with excellent rhythmic drive.D. High Frequencies: The top end is impeccable—crisp, airy, and extended without ever tipping into fatiguing brightness or sibilance.Happy listening. Cheers, Amit

I was a bit hesitant to order this as one user has mentioned that they did not receive the banana plug along with the cable. But I have received this with nakamichi banana plugs, not gold plated though. It works fine and the sound quality is much better compared to the old ordinary cables I have used.

very nice quality speaker cable

The product maintains good standard, Thank you, Nakkamichi

Quality 10/10, Packing 9/10 overall the best product, highly recommended

The quality of the cables are very good. I will go in for more in future to complete my home theater.

Great quality

For the price these are stellar, very good quality.

I replaced ordinary cable with nakamachi and now i can audible more clarity and details of music. These are well made cables

Jeden kabel w paczce, jedna gwiazdka.
