I bought a shaker to use with it and quickly realized it is NOT that kind of salt, lol. It is a buttery-flavored STRONG salt. You put 1/2 TEAspoon of Flavacol in with 1tablespoon coconut oil (NO MORE than 3/4 TEAspoon of Flavacol & only that much if you like an EXTREME FREAKISH amount of salt), Melt for a few seconds then add 1/3 to 1/2 cup popcorn (if microwave popper hit "popcorn setting" in the microwave & "add 30 seconds"). The chances of a normal person or couple using the whole carton in a lifetime is doubtful to me, lol. **Q: What is the "artificial flavor" that is listed in the ingredients? Having a generic label like that makes me nervous about what I am ingesting...** A: I was looking at this, but haven't purchased. I too was curious about the secret "ingredient(s)," so I found this on livestrong.com, http://www.livestrong.com/article/361445-nutrition-information-on-flavacol-butter-flavored-seasoned-salt/: "Original Flavacol contains only four ingredients: salt, artificial flavor, and FD&C yellows #5 and #6 to provide popcorn with a buttery yellow color." **Q: Do you put this in with the popcorn while you are popping it or sprinkle it after it's popped? I have a 6 qt. popper, how much do you use?** A: Yes, you mix it in with the oil and popcorn while its heating up. As far as quantity, a little bit goes a long way. You use a teaspoon for every 6-8 oz of kernels. **Q: can this be used on hot air popcorn or microwaved (no oil) popcorn?** A: I sprinkle it on microwave pop corn so i don't see why you couldn't put it on hot air popcorn. But if you spray your popcorn with a little oil after popping, the flavacol will stick to the popcorn. ## Frequently Bought Together - Gold Medal Prod. 2045 Flavacol Seasoning Popcorn Salt 35oz. - Orville Redenbacher's Gourmet Popcorn Kernels, Original Yellow, 8 lb. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/65122999-gold-medal-prod-2045-flavacol-seasoning-popcorn-salt-35oz](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/65122999-gold-medal-prod-2045-flavacol-seasoning-popcorn-salt-35oz) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-07*
