Great game!
Great game just like the original when I was a kid in the UK. This brand use the plastic discs as ammo which work much better than the balls you see in Aussie versions. They have also improved the catapults with springs instead of elastic bands although the crossbows are a bit harder to use without the elastic. Overall very pleased with the quality.

This is a Beautifully made game we are having hours of fun . My only moan is there’s only six things to throw at each other could do with including more or selling extra pieces

Just as good as the original, except a few minor things…..
Awesome game remake that brings me back to one of my absolute favorite Christmas gifts! Bought this for my kids this past year for Christmas. The quality of the blocks and parts is pretty good, I wasn’t sure what to expect after some of the reviews, but similar to the originals. The blocks are bigger and there’s no separate tower. I really like this game and so do my kids, except 2 issues. 1) the crossbows kind of suck. The original crossbows were deadly, and when you tightened up those rubber bands you would go right thru a castle wall. These new ones are not a pull back type, but instead a squeeze type. It took me a few disappointing tries to figure out that the pucks do not stay locked in and when squeezed most of the energy is not transferred into momentum. So in order to use these things and make them work well, you must squeeze with two fingers lightly, then use another finger to hold the top of the puck in place. Squeeze harder and pull the finger on the puck up really quick, and the puck will work as intended and inflict nice damage. This is not intuitive and hard for smaller kids to do and figure out. On the flip side, they do sell a weapons cache set with a crossbow that resembles the old ones, I havnt tried it, but I will be buying one. It’s about $25, comes with the better crossbow and a much larger trebuchet/catapult. The catapults that come with the new game are redesigned and designed very well! Spring loaded, and you can change the arc trajectory of the puck by turning a small knob. Way better than the old ones, and easy for the kids to use. 2): the next issue is that the new pucks are very thin and don’t weigh as much as the old ones do. They are more like a checker, very large hollow hole on the underside. Not enough mass to really cause the same damage as the original. Also, they only give you 6 pucks!!! They’re only red, there’s no blue ones. I know there’s black pucks if you buy the larger set though, but this smaller set has red and should really have come with 12. Another thing is they’ve changed from Vikings and Barbarians to of a more fantastical dwarves and orcs, which doesn’t take away from the game play, and I actually think they look cool and is a great idea since I love The Lord of the Rings themed stuff. The old Vikings and Barbarians from the original game were very 1970’s styled figures, and are a bit outdated. All in all, this provides hours of fun, and has some cool add ons you can purchase separately. Besides the weapons cache (which comes with extra pucks), There’s a builders bounty add on, $35 with tons of bricks, towers, jails, etc. There’s also a much larger game set, called “Fortress war” $90 which has more bricks for mega fortresses, more figures and a deck of cards to play the actual game. Frankly, I want them all! lol. This is a great recreate of an awesome childhood game. Not sure how long they will keep producing these.
