All-Pro FSL2030L, LED Floodlight, Bronze

Bought these thinking they were a dusk to dawn light. They are not. There's plenty of room in the housing to install a dusk to dawn sensor though. They are intended for flush surface mounting, not post mounting.I used 2 to replace a metal halide yard light. Just changing out these 2 fixtures for one Metal halide light has reduced my electric bill by $16 a month alone.They throw a bright light for about 40 feet, and the light disapates after that. BUT, they do throw light out beyond 100 feet, it's just not an intense bright light. It is bright enoough you can identify shapes and shadows. Better part of that is, looking back at the light it's still a bright spot you're looking back into, so an intruder would be at an extreme disadvantage.26JAN2015: I just completed the installs for the last of these lights. I reconfigured the original installation adding a third flood loght mounting them on a 12x12x6 watertight box. The second location I mounted 2 of these floodlights and a 2 head fllodlight on a second 12x12x6 watertight box. I am able to light three sides of my property completely from these 2 locations using 5 of these lights. the 2 head floodlight is directed towards the front gate. What a difference they make! The only issue I dislike is small. I had to wire in a seperate dusk to dawn sensor on each box for these lights. Being LED's and low current draws, the one sensor handles 3 lights in one fixture, and 2 lights in the second fixture without a problem.

This 30W LED floodlight replaced a fixture that had a pair of 150W T3 halogen bulbs. Roughly speaking, at 10% the wattage, it produces about as many lumens as one of the bulbs in the previous fixture. Since the halogen bulbs burnt out on a regular basis and are a pain in the neck to climb a ladder and replace, this seems like a great tradeoff since Murphy's Law says one of the bulbs was burnt out most of the time anyway.The color temperature is very cool blue which makes it somewhat more irritating if it is shining in your eyes, but for a security floodlight I see this as a feature rather than a deficiency. That said, the unit I received appears to be much bluer than the 5000K claimed by the manufacturer's website.Installation to the existing in-wall electrical box was straightforward although the length of the leads to the LED fixture was a little shorter than I would've liked to make the installation less awkward to perform from the top of a ladder.Provided this unit does not die quickly it should pay for itself in electricity bill savings alone in under a year. If the manufacturer's expected lifetime is true this fixture will last around 8 years with a 12 hour/day duty cycle. Climbing a ladder every 8 years instead of every 5-6 months seems like an enormous benefit.

The light is nice and bright, installation can be a problem because until now it had to be installed in a recessed base, which in my case involved chopping a lot of wood out of a beam. However, too late for me, Eaton finally has made available an adapter plate to fit other boxes: "We now have the adapter mounting plate for the round surface mount exterior j-boxes. I've had it up close to a year and it has worked out fine for me. I did not have to deal with a surface-mounted junctions box. I was expecting to find a recessed box when I removed the existing light, but discovered instead that the builder had installed it with NO junction box. Since this light has a base that serves as the exterior junction box, it was perfect for this situation - I was able to correct it completely with no hassle or added expense.I can't really quantify how bright the light is. It is far brighter than any incandescent I could have put in the existing fixture and is more than I expected. I did notice that the design of this light allowed the LED controller to be separated from the LED. I think this is a major advantage for avoiding the over-heating problems that are associated with with the flat LED lights that are so common on Amazon. It also looks like it belongs on a nice house in a residential neighborhood, which is more than I can say for those flat-panel ones.

I purchased this LED floodlight to replace an older 300 Watt halogen light fixture. The halogen bulbs were burning out to often. I needed a friend to come over with his very tall ladder to get to the old light fixture so he could change the halogen bulb. I had enough of that, as I'm sure my friend did. So, I purchased this LED floodlight. It's installed at the highest point of my one story house and the LED light is pointed downward. It's a very bright light (white with a little blue to it). I would not use an LED "white" light in my house but for outdoors it's ok since I don't use it much. The light is controlled by a switch in my house. I can turn it on and off at will, night or day. This is a very good LED floodlight. I'm impressed with the brightness. I've only been using it for a month and a half now. But, I liked it so much I purchased another one. I'll be slowly replacing all my halogen lights outside with LED lights.
