I also have the larger version of this grill, and it has lasted well for years of service. I bought this little one to keep water hot for coffee, or heat a side dish up. It is so handy! As a note, these grills are best used at the side of the fire, or over coals, rather than over flames. While they do hold up to high temps, they will age much faster, causing them to warp and rust. Either condition does not render them unusable. Cooking with fire is so fun, and foods will come out much better when cooked with the "low and slow" option. Otherwise, your food may be burnt on the outside and raw in the middle. For cooking directly on a grill, or over hotter temps, I reccomend purchasing an adjustable height grill, or for best results, an adjustable rolled iron grill. Amazon calls this a grill, but it is a grate, meaning best used to sit a pan on, not grill directly on.

It’s sturdy and compact/foldable. We haven’t used it yet but hope it works, we just got the smaller one, it’s heavy and sturdy, should work over a fire!

I'd never before cooked over a campfire, and wasn't sure what to buy, when I saw this, I figured I'd give it a chance. I cooked on it for 4 nights in a row on a camping trip. The first night I heated up my cast iron pan on it over the fire and cooked salmon, the results were OK, but not spectacular. The salmon tasted as if I cooked it on my stove at home. The next night, I put chicken breasts directly on the grill and they turned out great, the night after that, we made steaks, put them directly on the grill and cooked them over a wood fire and it was the best steak I ever ate. The last night camping we put burgers and hot dogs directly on grill and they turned out very nice. Depending on what you're cooking, I prefer to cook directly on this grill over a wood fire. Obviously, some things can't be put directly on it, and then the cast iron pan comes in handy. Overall, this was a great purchase, it's very sturdy and well made. If you like to cook outdoors or go camping, this is essential.

I bought this in the medium size for camping. Personally, I hate using the filthy grill every one tosses who know what on at public camping spots. Fit perfect in the camp fire pit. It's very sturdy and cleaned easily with a wire brush. AND it folds flat for easy storage.

Excellent value

This is smaller than I expected and the grates were not well suited to actual grill on directly. Worked fine as a surface to hold cast iron pans for cooking, but I’ve had better camping grills in the past. The biggest design issue is that the legs don’t fold out more, but rather are perpendicular to the grill and this really limits the size of the fire and logs. As stated it is small so the fire under also has to be small so the legs can sit solid in the fire pit

My main concern was that it would not be sturdy. However, it appears to be made of iron, comes fully assembled. Legs are a bit stiff, but I decided that's a plus, less likely to wobble. Haven't used it yet, but It seems like it would do what it's supposed to do.It comes with cleaning instructions : brass brush,soapy water; do not use a scraper. Keep in a dry place and clean at regular intervals ( could be wrong, but my guess is to avoid rust.)As for being easy to clean, I guess that would depend on how dirty it is.It weighs 5.4 lbs. I like it. If it were much lighter, it wouldn't be functional in my opinion.
