Don Francisco's Hawaiian Hazelnut Whole Bean Coffee, Medium Roast – 100% Arabica, Flavored Coffee, 20 oz Bag

This coffee is the absolute best. I buy the whole bean, ground, and K-cups. I love the Hawaiian Hazelnut and Vanilla Nut. Whenever I have company and make this, I am always asked what kind it is. It is so delicious, and affordable too. I used to buy it in the grocery store, but Amazon has even better prices and I can get a larger quantity.

My coffee snob friends roll their eyes and condescend to pity me for liking this coffee. I really should know better, they say. This isn't real coffee. Well they look like coffee beans, they grind up like coffee beans, and they make the kitchen smell like the holidays I never had. Wakes me up in the morning, tastes wonderful - even better than their vanilla flavored, which is my second favorite. It needs a little sugar to round it out, because it's all about comfort. This is some cozy winter morning java. Let the haters hate, have a cuppa.

8 o'clock was my go to brand of whole bean hazelnut, but as the price kept climbing and unavailability became common, I checked other brands. Don Francisco was my choice at almost 1/3 the price of 8 o'clock. This money saver tastes great except for the last sip in virtually every cup being bitter. What to do? After lengthy back and forth discussions about this with Google's AI, a solution was discovered. As I grind and brew cup at a time, in a Cuisinart unit, I inserted a disposable K-cup paper filter in the the fine mesh basket before grinding. (Note that the filter is pressed firmly against the inner wall of the mesh.) On the Cuisinart it helped to hold the basket up tightly against the grinder as it processed the beans, then proceed as normal. Sunrise! No more bitter taste in the last sip. It seams the paper filter traps sediment the mesh does not! It may be the beans, the k cup paper filter, my particular coffee maker, or a combination of on some or all of these variables, but who cares? It worked, and now I can enjoy that last drop still saving money as the paper filters are much cheaper that the 2/3 more I would otherwise spend for the more expensive brand of coffee that did not leave a bitter taste.

Really good coffee the aroma leaves the kitchen smelling great and waking up to the smell is fantastic.
