Calphalon® Hard-Anodized Nonstick 12" Jumbo Frying Pan with Lid

LOVE this skillet! Non Stick, metal handle and really deep sides. Perfect for stove top frying or just wanting to cook in a taller pan to keep the stove top cleaner. The all metal handles allows me to finish cooking foods in the oven where warranted. Great size and functionality all the way around! AND it comes with a lid!

I've searched for the perfect frying pan for a long time. I've purchased quality pans before (TFal), but nothing satisfied me. This pan? Checks ALL the boxes. It has a safe, nonstick surface and distributes heat beautifully. The large size, shape, and glass lid are awesome, but the extra handle makes it super easy to use. It's quality, durability and ease of cleaning are the cherry on top. Great value!

Haven't had it long enough to comment on durability, but it seems like an excellent pan. It's lightweight, deep and cleans easily.

I have two minor gripes with this pan 1) it could be in inch larger 2) the handle is stamped and hollow, and when grabbing it down at the yoke I feel the edges. Other than that, it's the perfect American kitchen wok. I have a flat top range and this covers a large burner nicely (gripe number one notwithstanding). It flips well, even with lotsa food. The lid is close fitting, and the stick is totally non.

I've only used it once, but I already love it. I am no chef, though I enjoy cooking everything from the regular food we eat most of the time to occasional fancier dishes. (I am a bit of an adventurous cook:)I was a little worried because the box it came in was beat up. However, the pan and lid were secured so well that they withstood without damage. There wasn't a scratch on either.1). Cooking experience: My cooktop ranges from L (low) to ten (the highest). Usually, we have to turn the temperature up quite high, because the largest burner is not working, and we have to use a small burner. With this pan, the highest temperature we used was four, which is in the low-medium range. The heat radiated from the center of the pan, and the food cooked evenly. There will probably be a bit of a learning curve, as I am used to cooking on much higher temperatures. The nonstick coating worked smoothly.2). Design: The pan is slightly angled; almost resembling a wok, though the sides are lower.(It is a deep pan, just not as deep as a wok.) That is a really nice feature. The lid fits well and steam doesn't escape. I think it will be perfect for baked spaghetti, chicken pot pie, and any number of delicious foods, since it's oven safe. The handle of the pan is hollow, and I think that is to make the cookware lighter. I appreciate that aspect as well.3). Durability: We had an old hard-anodized Calphalon pan that was not dishwasher safe. We loved it. At the time, it cost almost as much as my entire cookware set. I got tired of handwashing after several uses and started putting it in the dishwasher. Of course it ruined the outside, but not as quickly as I would have thought. This new pan is dishwasher safe, and my husband handwashed it first. For whatever reason he put in the dishwasher after handwashing. Not sure why because it was already clean, but it came out looking like new. Aside from not using metal utensils, I am fairly rough on cookware. And my husband is sweet, but I have, hope you're sitting down, caught him using silverware to turn food. I'm sorry to say, you did read that correctly:(The main reason I purchased this pan was because my husband bought me a set of cookware for our anniversary. That's what I asked for, so please don't hate on him:) I shopped around and spent maybe $105 on a beautiful set of Calphalon, which IMHO is a great deal. The frying pan that came with the set is not as large as I'd hoped. It also doesn't have a "helper handle" and this one does. That is something I have came to view as essential.It also matches the set, though that's not a big deal to me. (I am just a nurse and don't work for the company. I did not get paid by anyone for a good review. Calphalon is my favorite brand of cookware, but I would tell you if there were any problems that couldn't resolved. Promise.)I will give it a couple months and come back to update if it does not live up to expectations. So far, I highly recommend it. Excellent price and well worth the money spent.

I have had many pieces of Calphalon cookware over the years and it is by far my favorite brand. I am not a professional chef by any means. My main requirements for cookware is a non-stick surface and good heat distribution and this brand fits the bill. It also looks good and does not feel "cheap." I purchased this pan to replace one that I purchased over 10 years ago (started losing it's non-stick-ness). This type of pan is my go-to for most of my daily cooking so it gets a lot of use (this one and my 7 qt dutch oven also from Calphalon which I also just replaced after about 15 years). I definitely feel like I get my money's worth out of these products. I do not use metal utensils on them and I very rarely wash them in the dishwasher. I also very rarely put them in the oven even though this pan is rated to do so. This pan was well packaged and arrived in excellent condition. The lid fits well and the handles are very secure. I am, once again, very pleased with this brand. I highly recommend this brand and this product.

Bought this to replace a 15-year-old version that was peeling. The new pan is lighter weight than the old one but I'm fine with that. Easier to handle. It seems to be well made, cooks evenly, and cleans up great. I got it when it was on sale which made it a very good value in my eyes.
