BasicForm Stainless Steel Micro-perforated Colander with Handles and Base 9 Inches Wide 3.6 Inches Deep

This colander was a little smaller than I thought it would be but it can strain a little over a pound of pasta with no problems. Super easy to clean and keeps its shine too.

It came with an adhesive label stuck to the inside bottom. The glue was very hard to get off. Otherwise it's a very nice little collander.

Perfect for rinsing then soaking rice and legumes of all kinds. The colander nests perfectly, I mean perfectly inside a standard 2-1/2 qt Pyrex mixing bowl (which you can buy anywhere). It’s like the 2 were designed for each other.! I have been been looking for a bowl-colander match set for months, and now I have found it! Speaking as a design engineer of industrial food process systems, I love the fact that the metal to metal overlap of the base and handle is ingeniously minimal... less is more in this case. This makes it easier to clean and sanitize—which is especially essential use in sprouting. The perforations are small enough to contain rice, yet numerous and big enough for fast flow-thru rinsing. Initially, when rinsing dry rice for the first time a few particles will pass through the perforations. However this is not a problem because it will collect in the Pyrex bowl which you simply pour back into the colander. As a cover, a standard Corelle plate, as I have photographed, fits perfectly. I can’t recommend it enough.

I really like this colander. It's the right size for a one or two person household, it was very inexpensive relative to competing models and it does what it is supposed to do just fine. I have one gripe. One of the handles fell off after two weeks of use. The spot welds that should have held the handle firmly to the bowl was defective and failed. The colander still works just fine for my purposes. I understand that Amazon would send me a replacement if I wanted one but I can live with my one remaining handle. I marked down durability because of the handle issue but that's really a quality control issue. The one remaining handle is solidly attached. I would still recommend this colander highly to anyone that wants a good medium sized colander for a low price.

This was a gift for my daughter who just started life on her own and she loves it. It's sturdy, easy to clean, and big enough to hold an entire bag of grapes.This was a good choice. We are very pleased with this strainer.

I Was Shocked That This Item Was DAMAGED IN THE BOX? Prior To Shipping? Recieved it DENTED..Packing Was Good,I Dont Understand Why, when They Shipped This Item..How the Packer, Wouldn’t Of Noticed This.. DISAPOINTED 😐 was Not In A Plastic Bag..otherwise Looks As If it would if Been a Nice Strainer, Was Suppose To Of Been a Little Present, For My Daughter In Law, I bought Another Kind For My Self, I Gave Her That one..

It is of a good quality. I washed it in a dishwasher a lot of times - no staines, no patina.

Rusting on the handles already.
