Very competitive pricing and one hell of a radio! Worth it having it with you on every flight gives you that extra protection if the aircraft radio goes on the blink! And, it's very to use as it is the only one that you can plug your aviation headset into directly into and use! Every pilot from student up the ladder should have this radio as an insurance policy should the unexpected happen! So EZ to protect yourself, and it's very well built too!

This radio is incredible. I haven’t had to use it for an emergency yet, but I’ve used it to listen live as students solo. Works phenomenally and the headphone jack plugin feature is something I think is worth every penny.

It's such a relief to order something and it just works. No getting mad at it, no cryptic or weird instructions that I can't understand. It just works. I can hear air traffic all over my county just as clear as in the cockit. The "recall scan" is an especially cool feature: whatever frequencies you have saved into memory, it will scan just those, several times per second, finding you any chatter that is going on. One thing you need to understand before ordering, which isn't a defect, but just inherent to AM radio in general: Using the USB C power source is going to cause major interference, probably to the point that you can't squelch out the noise. This is due to the electric current near the transceiver. For best experience, plan to burn through some batteries.

Great! I bought it to listen during my training but I use liveatc far more as a student. Nice to have as a backup when internet or power it out

Simple, one function, uncomplicated ATC/aircraft comm. Nothing fancy, just does what it's supposed to do. Solid build, great price.

Very good radio, keep it in my plane when i fly. 2 complaints 1. The on/off knob too easily can rotate “ON” leaving dead batteries if unnoticed. 2. Retaining shell for battery compartment weak and can unlatch itself making it nearly impossible to access battery compartment. I sent back my first thinking it was a one-off problem but the second radio has the same issue. Think I’ll just leave retaining shell off and slip foam over the batteries instead.

One day I wasn’t sure if COM in C172 was working. Just moved my headset onto this great little radio and carried on with no issues. Also useful for checking AWOS or ATIS prior to firing up your bird. If you love just hanging out at the airport before a flight, you can monitor comms to get a feel for the ATC environment. Powerful radio. God Range. Clear in the headphones. Reasonable cost. I think I caught it at $50 off. A really good deal if you get the time right.
