These do work and they saved my window boxes from dying in the heat while I was away. However, it took me a while to work out the trick to using them. I couldn't get them to work at first. The trick is to soak them in a large bowl of water for at least 15 minutes, as per the instructions. Then, ensure all air is out of the spike and (the most important bit) put the lid on firmly while holding the whole spike and the lid COMPLETELY SUBMERGED in the bowl, to ensure no air enters. I then kept my finger over the end of the syphon tube until just before I put it into the water container I was syphoning from. All the spikes then worked really well. Update: Having used all the spikes once successfully, three are no longer working. I suspect this may be due to air entering where the ceramic stake meets the plastic top. Sadly, have had to downgrade my rating to four stars. Still a great product when they do work. Just bought more to replace the faulty ones

Spent a week trying to get them to work. Finally found the clear plastic part bonded to the ceramic has a hairline split at the shoulder. So the water drained out without replenishing. Several were like this. A couple do work well but I suggest testing the cone by blowing through the clear plastic part and checking no air comes out. Also blow through the tube as one was blocked in the cap. I assembled in a bucket underwater to ensure no air locks. The water goes also by evaporation so a narrow top pop bottle is best. Black mark indicates split.

I purchased these last minute before a two week holiday to water my 4 tomato plants but really wasn’t expecting them to work, but they did! upside, I used two stakes per tomato plant and two very large tubs of water and set up in the dark ahead of our flight. Came home to more than half the water drained from the tubs and the tomatoes growing well, not under or over watered. Downside, firstly is the long tubes need to be weighed so sit at bottom of the water bucket, they are coiled so tightly in packaging that they just want to curl up. Second I used one on a house plant indoors and it leaked water all over floor, just overwatered. Thirdly it was fiddly to get right, but it worked out well for the tomatoes.

Sorry. I'm not fully happy. I bought a pack with 10 droppers but 5 didn't worked because they aren't perfect sealed at the upper stakes. Therefore the water was droping up there and didn't work with vacuum. I tryed to repair these 5 puting around a ptfe thread tape around up. I decided to buy 3 from the original Blumat brand stakes (original product made at Austria). More expensive but all three are working well.

You have to make sure you put the end of the cable that goes into the water receptacle below the top of the spike that goes into the soil otherwise all the water drains into the plant. I tested it just before I went away luckily. You also have to fill the spikes with water too! Very important to do that before you put them into the soil. Fantastic gadgets Highly recommend! Once you get your head around it it is easy to use and set up

Out of the 10 stakes, 2 have the plastic damaged. They are leaking water and cannot be used. The other 8 seem to work fine.

Supplied information is unclear and with minute writing. I eventually got them to work.

It worked very well, I soaked them for few hours, everything submersed, left vases a little below the bucket with water, assured the tips of the tubes were in the bottom in the water, kept earth humid for 7 days, one small vase even overflow. I have some from Germany before, and both worked in similar way, thus these are cheaper.

Fácil instalación. Importante el dejar en remojo, llenar los conos, el depósito tiene que estar a mayor altura y que el extremo esté en el fondo del depósito (a veces hay que poner un peso para que se quede ahí.

Super happy with these. I saw a lot of bad reviews for these saying they didn't work at all and I'm thinking they maybe didn't clear all the air from the tubes while setting them up. I put the end of the tube in a jar of water and attached the cap to the spike while they are under water. You will see air bubbles escape the bottom of the tube when you put the cap on. Pull the cap off and then on again, off and on again, until you stop seeing air escaping the tube. Do this all with the cap and spike and tube fully submerged. Works great!

Une voisine était très contente de ce système et je l’ai testé et en suis très satisfaite. Il faut bien remplir un récipient d’eau et on peut partir tranquille. Le cône est en terre cuite.
