If you haven't replaced your halogens with LEDs yet, I would recommend doing so. It is actually cheaper to throw away the old halogens rather than wait until they die, as the energy saving is so big. These are a warm white. The beam is bright and steady and I had no problem with flickering. This type of bulb does not require a transformer but do check that your socket takes the wider pins, not the very thin ones.
