A great size for larger pans or two side-by-side for the griddle bridge elements
These silicone pads are working great on our induction cooktop. The Thermochromic property of the printed pattern, where they change color with heat is an interesting inclusion, although from 6 years of using pads similar to these I have never had any issues with getting burned as the pad doesn't get that hot to begin with and doesn't retain heat very long. The pad on top of your induction cooktop will not get warm or hot on it's own, only the pan sitting on it will heat up. I recommend that you always use a thin silicone pad like these with your induction cooktop. There is no heat in the glass top of induction cooktops. The only heat generated is within the magnetic pan metal itself, so these pads will not see any temperatures above your skillet or pan temperature. We have used silicone pads on this cooktop since we purchased it about eight years ago and it still looks like new. These pads arrived yesterday just in time for a test run as we were finishing bottling some peaches. The 11 inch size was great on the larger pans we were using in that project. I appreciate these being black as they blend well with the cooktop and they should not show any discoloration from use. Time will tell on that. The 11" square size will also let us use two of these side by side over two "Bridged elements" which work in unison to heat a large rectangular griddle. Very handy. The silicone pad provides two significant benefits for an induction cooktop. The first is that it prevents a pan from vibrating or singing due to the magnetic pulses of the induction. The second benefit is that it prevents scratches to the cooktop since the pan is only contacting the pad, not the glass cooktop. These square pads have a printed round pattern which is a lighter color and which is raised about .002 " from the square base material. The base material is black and shows the structure of the imbedded reinforcement fibers. Thickness of the black square is .028" and thickness with printing is .032". This is a good thickness for strength or robustness but thin enough that it doesn't excessively reduce the induction coupling which creates the heating in the pan. Magnetic energy coupling is distance related and already goes through the glass top, so keeping the pad thin is fairly important.Caution ! These pads are not intended for non-induction cooktops which reach high red-hot temperatures. They will burn on a cooktop like that.

Well made and it fit my Induction cooktop perfectly, it really stay in place really well too.It is very flexible and real easy to clean too.$16 for a pair of these silicone mats is not too bad, but $12 will be a better price.

Just the thing if you use heavy pans! (YES you get 2 in a pack)
I have a commercial induction hob at home that has all but taken over from my standard electric stove. Because I use it so much and cook in cast iron frequently, the top was beginning to show some wear. Not serious, but it didn't look polished anymore in spots.I ran across these mats and decided to give them a try. First thing is that you do get 2 of them in a pack even though the product listing doesn't really say that. The mats have the appearance of shiny silicone and are very thin, less than 1 mm thick. The finish really sticks to glass/ceramic so they don't slide around. These particular mats are square and fit the top of my hob perfectly covering the glass almost completely which should cut down on splatter cleanup. These mats are available in different sizes, round or square, so get the one that fits your induction cooktop the best.As near as I can tell, these don't reduce the efficiency of the cooktop at all. I cooked two burgers, one with the mat and one without, both took the same amount of time. The color change design also works great to show if the cooktop is hot.The only downside to these is that if you like to shake and slide the pan around while cooking, the silicone kind of "grabs onto" the bottom of the pan and makes this more difficult, you have to lift the pan a bit. On the other hand, it protects the top of your induction cooktop so it won't get scratched.

perfect for protecting my induction cooktop
I recently acquired an induction cooktop and first thing I realized was that I want to make sure that I don't scratch the top. Since it has a black top and he scratches are going to be very visible, I'm used to having a white electric flat stove where though every speck of dust and dirt is visible, scratches are less visible. These are really going to come to the rescue over the long run. My induction cooktop is a standalone, it can be either installed in a counter or used freestanding, I use it freestanding but might eventually remodel the kitchen to have it installed. Since it's freestanding, it's taller than all we're still or countertop and I have to be more careful about placing pots and pans on it. Once I discovered I could get protectors I was thrilled. The thermochromic property is definitely a useful thing to have, even though my cooktop does have warning lights on it, it's a nice extra bit of visual protection.Even if they didn't have that thermochromic property, I'd still give five stars.

Must-Have for Induction Burner
I was looking for a silicone protector for my new portable induction burner (Mueller) for when it’s stored in a drawer. I had no idea it could be left on the burner while cooking! This is genius! It protects the glass from scratches, keeps the pan from sliding around, and glows red when hot so you’ll know to avoid burning your hand. Spills and splashes clean up easily with soap and water in the sink. My cooktop is rectangular; this silicone square covers the cooking area, leaving the controls uncovered. Highly recommended!
