the string is thin but holds up well. had it for almost 2 years before it finally got caught on something while my phone was in my pocket and snapped. if i had been paying attention it would have lasted longer. so it definitely serves its purpose and its nice when i dont have pockets that i can just throw my phone on my wrist and still have my hands free for something else. really cute design. beads do tend to wear off and get dull over time but its plastic so you get what you pay for.
