Sharp and smooth and safe
The Astra blades are really marvelous either for safety razors and straight razors, very smooth and the closest shave is easy with these Astra blades and another beneficial about these blades, it also gives irritation free shave.

Excellent blade for everyday use
This blade is a perfect combination of smoothness and aggressiveness. Perfect blade for any razor. I use this at setting 3 on my Parker Variant razor (reduce it to 2 and 1 for subsequent passes.) As there are lots of reports in Shaving forums about counterfeit Astra blades, I was a bit concerned. Fortunately, the blades I got from M/s J.K. International are genuine beyond doubt. The genuine blades have Lasser inscribed branding on one side only (can be seen clearly on tilting). The other side is blank. There is no side numbering on any edge. The old Astra blades had brand printing on both sides and edges were numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4. If you have a blade with printing on both sides it is not necessarily counterfeit as these may be from old stock. Buying from a reputed vendor like this will ensure buying genuine products.

Among the best likes who use Doune Edged blades
I have used just 3 of three of them till now. I shave only twice a week using double edged shaver first and then use vector plus for reverse move and finishing closest shaves. Well performing till now. Lasts more than gillette vector. Once I took it to my barber and got shaved. He just got surprised how it was gliding like butter straight and reverse and just got inquisitive about it. Awesome!!

Its a FEATHER without cuts
Very good blade. . tried this after using feather...THIS ONE TAKES ONE MORE PASS BUT ITS SAFER THAN FEATHER.....ok you wont get Feather close shave in single pass but you wont bleed either....i am not a type of person who put lots of concentration while shaving (which is required by feather)...so this one is perfect for me, i can GLIDE ASTRA across my face while talking to someone without worries, and at the end my after shave didnt sting as much as it used to after using feather...i am gonna stick to astra now

Good for beginners
As pointed out many people, this indeed is an old stock as the new ones have laser etched branding on one side.I got the packet for 899 Rs and it is really good for around 9 rs a piece. I have recently started using DE razor and this blade is perfect if you don't want too sharp blades. I am using one blade for one shave. No cuts or burning sensation.

Nice and sharp blades which give you closer shave
These blades are great. I don't get any kind of burning sensation after using them which was not the case with the precious brnad of blades. Just wipe of the water from it after the use, preferably with a denim cloth and it would give you few close and clean shaves. Go for it.

Awesome Shaving experience
Nice and smooth shave everytime, lasts for 4-5 times single blade.Would definitely recommend it.Cost effective compared to other ready to shave razors.

UPDATED June 2020. BEST VALUE BLADE! And also GREAT in Merkur Slant Bar razor!
I finally went through a 100-pack of Astras I'd bought 5 years ago and it was time to order another. I was a little nervous, seeing the negative reviews/claims of diminished quality. My original pack was labeled for sale in Turkey. The new pack was labeled for sale in Czech Republic. I don't see any difference (think, it's the same factory, it's far easier to have a single line making same blades rather than making multiple different blades). These are great. After I ran out, I was going through different samplers I'd purchased and I have not found a better value. Great balance of sharpness, smoothness and value.UPDATE 05/15/2015: I tried these in Merkur 37c SLANT BAR razor - wow, great! It mowed down a week's worth of beard in one pass without clogging and I only used subsequent passes to get that smooth feeling in all directions. I've never been able to do this before - longer growth always took extra passes.UPDATE 06/10/2015: I just got a Merkur 15c "open comb" razor and the Astra SP blade also worked great in it. It is neither harsh nor too mild - seems just the right balance of sharpness and smoothness, it slices, no tugging.IMHO these are a great value.Only straight edge would be cheaper (but that takes more time/effort and more up-front investment).I am new-ish to DE shaving, but also got into straight edge shaving a couple of years ago. I can only compare these to the German blades that came with my Van Der Hagen razor and maybe I'm not sophisticated enough yet, but they both appear to shave great - better than the "best" cartridge razor i.e. Gillette Fusion ProGlide.I like the value, but the packaging could be a bit more travel-friendly, but perhaps that would increase costs. Still, the little 5-blade boxes are great.I am curious to try other blades and sharpnesses, but I don't feel like I need to.UPDATE 05/26/2015 - I have since tried a Wilkinson Sword and a sample Merkur blade (by Solingen) that came with my Slant. I have to say that my perception is that Astra is better - both: a closer shave and a milder shave with less irritation/injury. So far, out of the 4 I've tried - Van Der Hagen (Germany), Wilkinson Sword, Merkur and Astra - Astra seems best and Merkur seems worst (wow, really, Solingen?). I'll keep updating as I have Feathers coming in soon :)UPDATE - 06/03/2015. I also just tried a Feather blade with my Slant. The first shave was great and very smooth, the second - not so much. I am thinking that the Feathers are a one-shave blade. I still think Astras are the best blade AND cheapest blade out there.

buy this and never pay for disposal blades ever again
disposable blades are a scam. this will last me a few years at least. the biggest scam is it is more convenient to use disposable razors. its not.
