Just what I was looking for!
There are some no so rave reviews for this mat but I decided to take a chance and I'm totally happy with it! The larger size is just what I needed. It has a "frosted" not completely clear look to it which is typical of most chair mats. It is made for hard floors, so if you have carpet, this one will not hold up for you, you need the kind of mat made for carpets that doesn't have a smooth floor side. Definitely watch out when you are removing the plastic that keeps this mat rolled up...it instantly springs open flat! I just received it this week so I can't really speak to the durability or sturdiness but so far, so good. I'll update if I have any issues.

Decent Chair Mat for Hardwood Floor.
Came rolled up in a single level box.Don't just take off the plastic wrapped around the roll, it WILL spring open quickly and could cause a cut.I expected the mat to need a little heat to lay flat but I had no problem with it, the mat laid flat straight out of the box.PROS:Thickness is right for a wood floor.Textured on the top side.Slick underneath but mat does not slip.CONS:Nothing so far.NOTE:Cutting the Mat to fit a custom sized area !I purchased a larger than needed mat, I decided to cut it to my required size.I didn't think about the material and how I was going to cut it.When I took the mat out of the box and laid it out on the floor I decided to try a sharp Razor Knife. As it turned out I used a straight edge and two people makes the cutting easy; the mat took a few passes with the razor knife and cut through. So you can use a Razor Knife to cut the Mat to size... if you need to or are as crazy as I am.One more thing, me being a stickler about things, I used a hole saw on the inside corners to get a rounded look and reduce the possibility of cracking in the corners. I used the hole saw before any other cutting.

Anti dog destruction floor protection
I foster puppies and dogs for a local rescue. I went trough 2 tarps, and a linoleum sheet before I ordered this floor protector. It is just the right size To go under the X pen and is bomb proof! They ate through and dug up the other stuff in days...minutes. They of course have tried to do the same to the floor protector and haven't even scratched it. I got the 60x72 size. I was explosive to open, so stand back.

OMG! Perfect!
At first I was a little worried that it came in rolled. It was a big box mind you... it was a box of about 18x18x60. To my surprise it laid out flat! perfectly flat! I guess it really doesn't bend permanently.I'm about 200+ lbs and there are no depressions from the wheels. I put it on a 0.5" carpet and this thing is TOUGH! Worth the money I paid for it! Because if you shop around, you know low quality standard-size mats are around $50, and the medium quality ones are about $100. Well this one is super high quality and easily 4 times BIGGER than the standard sizes. Paid $150 for this. Worth every penny! Love it love it love it!Highly recommended! Spend the money! Don't waste your money on a mat that YOU KNOW you will be unhappy with anyway. Spend the extra money! the standard size for this mat is $120. Don't get the vinyl ones, those are the ones that crack, bend and smell. spend the extra $20-40 and get a good strong mat that will last for years! The secret keyword to search for is: Polycarbonate. That's the stuff this thing is made out of. And if you read the reviews, everybody agrees these are the best kinds of mats!EDIT: 2 months later. This thing shows no signs of wear or depressions. It did roll around a lot at first, I put the super smooth side on the carpet that's why. I like having the rough patterned side to step on. I finally caved and drilled a hole on the corner and screwed the thing with 2 L brackets on the very corner of the room. Now it doesn't move anymore. problem solved!UPDATE 11/07/13:So haha I have purchased all sorts of sizes of this polycarbonate material. I use it for my home business and all my chairs have this, as well as some surface table where I needed a smooth surface that could slide stuff easily. So I purchased about 8 of these already in different sizes. This big one that I bought is still very much intact and well no depressions or dents, as in zero depressions. My only thing is DON'T run your chair wheels on the edge of the mat too often. I placed my mat not close enough to my desk, and everytime I rolled to get closer to the desk, the wheels would stress out the edge of the mat. It's basically like plyboard--you can bend it but if you fold it too far it's gonna snap and crack. What I did was I bought another mat and put it under to extend it and to stop the crack from becoming a big problem. Or you could just move the mat so your chair is in the center of the mat not on the edge. Mine was so huge that there's furniture that helped hold the mat down, so I didn't bother moving it, I just bought another mat to extend it.Also I agree with the other review that if you put it on a carpet floor and you step on the edge it has a tendency of rising up a little bit. I ended up rounding the edge because the edge is a square point--and altho it won't really cut you, it will hurt if your other foot/toe gets caught lol. Another helpful way is to get those carpet holders that you put under rugs so the rugs won't move. Haha I did that on a couple of ones that kept moving and it's stuck now, it never moves.

Best money spent! Love it just what I wanted
I put in my craft room so I can roll between my tables. It is perfect!

Does what I wanted ...
Needed a floor covering to allow my small wheeled chair to roll over my tile floor with grout dips smoothly and to cover my oriental rug under my feet. This did the job. The top side is a bit rougher than I'd like and makes some noise ... but I had to put the smooth side down on the tile.

It's a quality mat!
If you plan on ordering the 71" x 79" Cleartex XXL General Purpose Mat for Hard Floors, don't expect it to arrive anytime soon. Mine took 3 months. I ordered this mat on November 29, 2019 and received it on March 4th, 2020. Don't bother calling Amazon to find out what the delay is. I did this and the rep switched my shipping speed to standard, thinking it would help out. This only delayed my expected arrival date by an additional 2 weeks. Patience is the key. Trust me!However, once it arrives, you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's the real deal. I received a "Floortex" branded mat (removable sticker), and it's definitely made of extremely tough polycarbonate (smooth on one side and dimpled on the other). Due to this particular mat's size, it's shipped rolled-up, in a fairly large box. After removing it from the box, you'll have to carefully cut a strap. Once cut, the tension will be released and the mat should spring-back perfectly flat. The corners are not rounded-off, which is what I prefer for a mat this size. The removable sticker on my mat indicates that it was "Made in U.K." Although the product description states that this mat is 71" x 79", my mat's dimensions are 71" x 80 3/4". Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend this product.

Amazing quality, doesn't sink, doesn't stink
Great chair mat that covers the entire area beneath my desk and enough to back out my chair without leaving the mat. Previous mats I've used leave indents when I sit but this one doesn't seem to indent.I was surprised when the sticker on the mat said "smooth side down" but it feels great even with the rough side up.

Says it won't crack but it does.
I DID purchase this in 2020 but the ad says won't crack - mine is cracked in many places now and has entire holes. It was good while it lasted.
