It may cost twice as much but you know what - you get what you pay for.I weigh 210 pounds and sitting in my desk chair I don't put any dents at all in this mat. It is very rigid and easy to roll around on. And it ships flat. My home office is a spare bedroom and I have the standard home carpet and padding in the US. The only quality question is that the little spikes are not square to the cut of the mat. And since the mat is clear I can see the spikes. If you bounce light off them just right they almost look like little LED's so it's pretty noticeable. I still gave it 5 stars, this is the one to get for carpet.After using it for a month I can say that I still roll around on it very easy, no indentations at all. But it does walk around a little bit on the carpet. It doesn't stay in place. Maybe the spikes aren't long enough or sharp enough. Still not a deal breaker for me. I just nudge it back into position when I vacuum. No regrets.

I love this mat. Based on past experiences with chair mats I was dreading having to unpack it and wrangle it into place while suffering injury from the carpet gripping studs on the back. This mat was a dream. It was packaged flat between cardboard, is very light weight and rigid making it very easy to handle and move into the correct position on the carpet without injury from the studs on the backside. I can see my carpet through the pad, but the pad is not crystal clear or invisible. The studs on the back of the mat appear like diamond studs against my light colored carpet. The best part of this mat is how easily the chair rolls on it. It is like ice skating. My only complaint is that the edge is not beveled, nor is it rounded as one person stated. It has a sharp angle and a very hard, thin exposed edge. I bumped my bare foot up against the edge and it was not pleasant. I believe the edge is sharp enough that it could have cut my foot had it caught the mat at a different angle. It really scared me and now I am on high alert to make sure my foot does not get near the edge. I have a low pile carpet and pad with a total carpet thickness of 3/4 inches. The mat does not sink down into my carpet as one person stated. Instead, the edge seems to be raised above the carpet leaving it exposed. It is not impossible to get my chair back on the mat of it rolls off, but it does take some effort that could be eliminated with a beveled edge. If not for the mat edge, I would have given it 5 stars.

I read so many reviews for different mats that seemed to indicate they don’t work on regular carpet because they either crack or the chair wheels leave indents, that I started to believe it wasn’t possible to find a mat they wouldn’t do that. I was nervous about ordering this for my home office in our spare bedroom, but I’ve had this for a few months now, and it shows zero signs of wear (I spend many hours everyday sitting at my desk on this mat). I also lifted the mat when I shampooed the carpet and didn’t see any sign of damage to the carpet. I highly recommend this for people looking for a chair mat that works well on carpet.

I needed a chair mat made for carpet. I tried the less expensive chair mat. It came rolled up in a tube. The edges started curling from day one and became a bit of a tripping hazard. So after reading the reviews on this one I decided to spend a little more and try it out. It came as a flat piece wrapped in cardboard. It went in flat under my chair and continues to stay flat. My chair rolls easily on it and it is holding up just fine after two months of daily use. I am very pleased with this mat and would buy it again.

Purchased this mat in Oct 2022 and by Aug 2023, it had already cracked in a number of areas. Reached out to Floortex customer service and for $30, they replaced it under warranty. They let me know that the warranty ends once you make an initial claim (i.e. if it breaks again, they will not allow you to pay $30 for a replacement). Now in May 2024, just noticed that it has cracked again in multiple areas.I use this mat on thick carpet and pad with a 5 wheeled chair with roller blade type rollers.The other issue is that the mat does not stay in place. It is always moving about, and you have to constantly move it back into the place you want it.

Sturdy as described, very easy to move on... and definately flattens out the carpet under your chair.. almost like glass even. So much so, that I would say it works too well, and is too slick if your floor is not level. I continually was sliding one direction. So much so that I had to add the more rubber chair mat that I intended on replacing, on top of it, and then even added a ring under one of the wheels to keep from sliding. So it definately did the job of making a flat surface on plushy carpet.

These chair mats are extremely good quality, are very ridged, and perfect for high pile carpet. They are like the ones you used to be able to find many years ago that work very well on thick carpet. The chair wheels do not sink into the mat and roll beautifully. They also look great; very crystal clear, so 5 stars for that.Now, the one, big, unnecessary problem is that the top edge of the mat is RAZOR sharp! My wife has cut her foot twice and I got cut on my wrist while crawling under the desk trying to get something I dropped. This makes no sense at all, especially since the bottom edge (closest to the floor) is nicely rounded and smooth. Seems that the top edge could also have been finished that way, but instead it is slightly raised and creates a very sharp edge that will cut through skin like it's nothing. I resolved this problem by sanding the entire edge of the two mats we have with 150 grit paper and then followed up with 320 grit. It is now beautifully smooth, just like the bottom edge so no more cuts!I give this an overall 3-Stars because the mat itself is awesome (a solid 5-Stars for sure), but the razor-sharp edge is unacceptable (1-Star).

The polycarbonate material is much stiffer than PVC and doesn't bend under the chair wheel which allows the chair to move easier, because the polycarbonate doesn't bend back and forth under the wheel it should last much longer, time will tell how long it lasts, but I am confident that it will.

Works very well. I bought a couple of different chair mats and was dismayed at how badly the mat would sink into the carpet, leaving me stuck and unable to wheel by chair without getting up.This mat is very thin but very hard. It doesn't warp at all, even sitting on a chair for hours at a time. That's with about 170lbs of weight pressing down on 5 office chair casters. I'm very happy with this purchase having used it regularly for about 3 months now.

So far, it works very well, no slippage of mat, chair moves easily, no tripping over the edges, nice weight, no cracks visible at this time. If it lasts, it is well worth the cost.

Extremely disappointed with this product. It creeps out position with the slightest movement of my chair. It’s stiff enough that it would serve the purpose for which it was intended but the movement across the carpet is a major flaw. It appears the little spikes on the underside are just not long enough to hold it in position. This is advertised for plush carpet which what it is currently being used on and just isn’t working. We have missed the return date due to our renovation being delayed. Had we been able to use this product as soon as it was delivered it would have been returned by now. Unfortunately we are stuck with it.

Happy with the chair mat. Works as advertised for plush carpets. I agree with other reviews the mat does shift and needs to be adjusted on occasion.
