I have lots of gray hair and learn to color the roots too often, I like the idea that its a shampoo ,tried it many times but it seems it would cover only the top part or maybe i just need to use more or let it stay onmuch longer. Will try it some more and see how it goes.

Good product

While this is marketed as a shampoo, don't think of it as a shampoo but as an easy to apply short lasting hair dye. Here are the steps to successfully use it:1. Apply lotion or vaseline to your skin that are next to the hair2. Wear gloves or be sure to wash your hands frequently throughout the process3. Apply this product and rub it well into your hair and scalp, be generous4. Quickly wipe your skin areas that may have come into contact with the dye5. Even if you don't see it, wipe the areas around your sink where the dye may have splattered6. Wait 15 minutes7. During your wait time, wipe your skin again as well as the sink8. After 15 minutes, take a shower to rinse off the dye9. Be sure to splash water all around your shower to clean off any dye10. Enjoy your new look for about a week then repeatThe above steps are what is needed for applying just about any hair dye. For this product, I found that I did not have to use gloves as it washes away easily so long as I do it fairly quick. As the dye is semi-permanent, it is not that strong. So do not expect perfect coverage after one application. The dye does not look like it is working at first. But after a few minutes, one could see that the hair is starting to get darker. While waiting for the 15 min, I use paper towel or tissue to wipe the skin around the hair that may have gotten some of the shampoo dye. If you don't, then the skin may darken too due to the dye. However, if you wipe it off your skin early, then it does not show. This is also the reason I put lotion on my skin prior to using the dye.I like how less of a mess it makes versus other hair dye. While the waiting time is about the same, there is less of an odor and more time to apply it to your hair and wipe away any excess off your skin. For me, it took 3 sessions to get the look that I want. I didn't mind because I did the sessions over several days. The gradual decrease in grey was not so sudden and therefore did not call too much attention from others. Instead, it became a natural progression.
