Morphy Richards 1.5-Litre (1850+350) Watt Stainless Steel Tea Maker

I drink a lot of tea and coffee, both black. I need a quick and easy way to make hot water without having to turn on the stove or the microwave. This makes an electric kettle one of the most used appliances in my kitchen. I’ve used so many of them over the years, it’s fair to say I’ve become somewhat of an expert on electric kettles :-) One thing I’ve come to realize is that it’s better to spend more and get a quality kettle. None of the cheaper ones have lasted me more than 6-8 months, whereas my earlier Morphy Richards kettle worked like a dream for over 3 years before it quit. Also, some of the cheaper kettles leave an odd taste/smell in the water. This one has no such issues.WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS KETTLE- Stainless steel body, with a wide mouth and a lid that opens ninety degrees: easy to clean, low maintenance, lasts longer than plastic, looks stylish- Concealed heating element: easier to clean hard water deposits, reduces corrosion and chances of the water getting adulterated with rust or mineral deposits, maintains energy efficiency- Super fast: takes less than a minute to boil 2 cups of water- Plastic handle with rubber grips: doesn’t get hot, rubber reduces chances of slippage- Cordless operation: the kettle can be removed from the base and carried around, extremely convenient - not only to use but also to clean- Auto shut-off / boil-dry protection: the first feature automatically shuts-off the kettle once the water starts boiling, the second feature turns it off when there’s no water inside. Peace of mind!- Good quality electric cable: doesn’t melt if it comes in contact with the hot kettle- Comes with a fine steel mesh filter: tea leaves can be added directly into the kettle. Also, the filter can be removed for cleaning purposes. I don’t use it much, but some might. Useful to have.- Can boil as little as one large cup of water: this is very important for me since most other kettles (especially those with exposed heating elements) force you to boil min 3-4 cups when you actually need just 1A COUPLE OF MINOR COMPLAINTS- The primary power-on indicator (this has a second one for brewing) is near the bottom of the handle, I have to bend down each time to check whether it’s on- The water measure indicator is on the inside, behind the handle. A bit inconvenient to read while holding. Should've been on the other side.MORE INFO- The kettle comes with a 15 ampere plug (the bigger sized plug that you see in Fridges, Microwaves etc.), so make sure you have a free 15 ampere point where you want to install it. My earlier Morphy Richards kettle had a standard 5 ampere plug which used to trip the circuit occasionally when used on a 5 ampere point. This one forces you to use a 15 ampere point, which I think is better.- Do remember that the kettle can heat up to 1.5 litres of water, which can become quite heavy for some people to lift with one hand. Being a steel body, you can't touch anywhere but the handle because it is too hot. Be careful while handling it, do not allow young children to operate it.- The kettle has a brew function for making Indian style tea with milk and sugar. I’ve only used it once to check how it works. Once the water starts boiling, the main power switch on the top of the handle will turn off automatically. You need to add tea leaves, milk and sugar as per taste and switch on another small red button on the base of the kettle. This will keep the water hot while the tea is brewing. Once done, simply switch off the button and pour.Overall, I am very satisfied with this kettle and will recommend it wholeheartedly. I hope this review helps you in your purchase decision.

This tea maker cum electric kettle heats up water super-fast. Two to three cups of water can be heated up in seconds!! Two heaters one for boiling and one for brewing tea works seamlessly. When water has started boiling the main heater switch is turned off automatically and the broiling heater is then switched on giving you a nice simmering water which is perfect for broiling tea along with spices and condiments added.The main body made of brushed stainless steel remains hot. However the base, handle and lid are made up of heat-resistant plastic and remain cool. The detachable base is also a boon!! It lets you to take off your kettle from the base and take it to any other place that you want free of all those electrical cables. The inbuilt strainer is also very efficient and have been able to strain finely ground tea leaves that I use at home perfectly!! Overall, I am very happy with the performance and the sleek looks of this tea maker. It is fast, efficient and looks very beautiful!! Great job, Morphy Richards!!

My second kettle and not as good in quality as the first but it works well!

Good Reliable product. Easy to opertate and clean

Its one of the best kettle, i had one before,and i was using it for the past 3 years and it is still working properly.Now i bought other one..i am using it again.i can gurantee u u will like it as it is of good quality and easy to clean. And i cook maggie, boil water, boil milk and make tea in it.My brother has bajaj kettle and it is difficult to clean it as the mouth of bajaj kettle is small.Price is little high but the best product.

Product is GOOD, and IMHO, best in the category. Very happy with the purchase.However, the package was not, as well packed as the other items received through Amazon, such that it created an apprehension of transit damage / prying enroute. Fortunate, that item is working just fine.Satisfied. All is well, that ends well.Amazon and seller, would do better, if better packaging is also ensured.

I believed Morphy Richards to be a good brand as I had Morphy Tea Maker which is still in a great condition, but this product is of CHEAP MAKE... I think they introduced this to be sold discounted on e-commerce platform, just not worth at all, rather one would get a descent product from any other brand but not Morphy Richards...My experience is just stay away from this brand....

good product and easy to maintenance and cleaning. After seen the product the i feel rate seem little bit high.
