Ingredients in HBH = spearmint & lemongrass. Amounts required: HiveAlive = just 2 tsp per gallon syrup. HBH = 4-8 tsp per gallon syrup Price per gallon syrup: If buying 100ml bottle of HiveAlive for $25.99, price per gallon syrup is $2.59. If buying 8oz HBH for $22.95 and require 8 tsp per gallon syrup this would cost $3.76 per gallon syrup. Both prevent syrup from fermenting.

In addition to supplementing in syrup in spring has anyone also sprayed on new foundation to encourage package bees to draw comb?

I just tried it this fall, I had bees move into a hive this late fall and thought it might help them make it this winter. I know that they will need all the help they can get.

No hives lost in Winter

I'm beekeeping in Japan, using modified Warre style hives. Not sure if it's only because of Hive Alive, but for 7 years of beekeeping (and using this product) I've never lost a hive in Winter.

Great stuff. Beeee expecting earlier swarms.

My girls (worker bees) tell me they love it. OK, I'm exaggerating. They're still alive....however I wasn't expecting them to swarm so early in the season. Must be beeecause of the colony strength as indicated by the manufacturers information.
