The actual design of the mat is lovely so I really wanted to like this but the mat was folded poorly before being placed in a tight cellophane wrapper which has left the mat with terrible fold marks all over it.I’ve lain the rug out in the hopes it might flatten over time and if it does, I’ll update this review but I’m not holding my breath.It should have been rolled, not folded.

The play mat is a proper rug, not just a piece of flimsy material. The quality is very good - it’s made from low-pile nylon, the edges have been double hemmed to prevent fraying, and it has a bit of weight to it and a non-slip backing to help keep it in place. The road design and the colours are also very good, and everything is well-defined. The mat is soft and thick enough, for kids to be able to crawl around or kneel on it comfortably. According to the item description, it can be machine-washed. The mat is a bit creased - I can’t follow the suggestion of placing it under a carpet to flatten it as I have fitted carpets, so I’ve hung it over the banister on the upstairs landing. Shame it wasn’t rolled instead of folded, but I understand that packing them folded is probably easier and cheaper for shipping.
