The four patriots reviewThe book FOUR PATRIOTS by an IITian (IIT-K) cum Industrialist Sumit Agarwal is a patriotic a story ..storyabout transformation of our country that we all love to hear,about the destination of our country we all long to see,and about the new freedom struggle to free our country from dirty politics,that we all love to participate in.As the author acknowledges the the four patriots or the the four protagonists in this stroyare not completely fictitious...as there are in fact such remarkable people in the Author's acquaintancesand friend-circle.Each and every one of us, at least at some point in our life, ..in school,college,..with friends or . at dining table at home,must have debated about the state of affairs in our country.. and particularly about why India, despite being richin natural resources and brain power, has not been able to beat the rest of the world, or at least beat our neighboring China,be it in political and economical affairs, or sports or make a mark in world affairs and make its presencefelt at world forums?and resented about the current state of India despite the fact that India once ruled the worldin ancient times..in spirituality,science,commerce and what not?The book book traces the lives of four such people like you and me, who, fed up with the current deplorable state of affairs,set forth on transforming the country itself.Indeed a big task.Do they succeed in their efforts?and how do they do that.That forms the main plot of this exciting novel.The author Sumit Agarwal used his on-campus experience at IIT-Kanpur to writea nice love story (with a twist!) with one of the main protagonists in the lead.Likewise the author builds up the background to the main story from the personal experiences(bitterones that made them rebel against the system)of the remaining threeprotagonists.These background-building stories are very nicely composed and are delightful indeed..based on romance, humor,sentiments,and the importance of human relations, and the often forgotten traditional values.Coming to the main story....The prologue is set in 2022, August 15, Prime Minister's Independence speech..and there is a murder attempt on the good working PM...will he survive?Will the four patriots come to his rescue?I am not disclosing.. discover yourself.The main plot is:Fate brings the four patriots together at a crossroads,pushing these unlikely heroes out of their comfort zonesto fight a seemingly unstoppable evil force which wantsto hold our country captive. The four companions, who havealways had each other’s back, will now come face-to-face withthe biggest challenge of their lives—a labyrinthine plot rife withperilous twists and wicked turns. With the nation’s future at stake,will they be able to destroy the Chakravyuh intricately laid down bythe enemies of India?
