No, it is designed for copper lugs, can't fit insulated ring connectors.

Q: Are the awg dies just metric dies relabeled in awg or are they sized properly as well? can the dies be purchased seperatly?

The AWG die is properly sized and it is improved version of metric dies, it can make better than metric dies.The dies can be purchased seperately.

Q: Will this tool crimp heavy duty aluminum contact terminals that go on a 2 gauge battery wire for a winch?

I used it on crimping a battery cable eye on arc welding cable and it worked great. Welding cable is at least as big as a battery cable. wished I would have bought this 10 years ago!

No, it doesn't contain lugs, only crimper. The image just show the crimping result by the tool.
