This is a really useful magnetic light - the magnet is a ring around the light - so when you're trying to pick something up - you can see it! I love the light. It is telescoping - so you lengthens as you need. A terrific gift - or tool for the tool drawer! Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. Strong magnets, good telescoping. But there were 2 issues. 1) No instructions on where to change the batteries. I figured it out but I wasn't the only one who had trouble. 2) I needed to change the batteries because the ones that came installed didn't work. Glad they sent the other 4 batteries.

I got this as a gift for my dad. He loves it. We are short people so the telescoping part is what sold me. It’s nice and bright and the magnetic properties makes this unlike any other light he has. He loves it and uses it all the time.
