Leupold Alumina Flip Lens Cover with a Matte Finish

The Leupold Alumina Flip covers are not cheap, but they are THE BEST scope covers out there, bar none! They are very light, SOLID (metal, not plastic), and will flip up and lay flat along the side of the scope. They are adjustable so you can flip them straight up or to lay along the side of the scope body. and can be locked in that position. They are not see through, but solid metal and protection for your scope. They thread into the end of your scope. PLEASE NOTE: These will not work on some of the older scopes! They will not thread into the older scopes. If you have a scope and wonder if you can use them just call Leupold and speak to customer services and they will let you know if they can be used or not. These are built for specific size scopes, 36, 40, 44mm objectives etc. They also have different sizes for the Ocular (eye piece) end. When looking in a catalog it can be a bit confusion at times. Call Leupold custom services, give them your scope model and they will tell you and exact models you need. Excellent product, put them on all my Leupold scopes (only work on Leupold scopes), Highly recommend. W

These caps are the best! Worth every penny!

A perfect fit on my Leupold 1-4x20 vxII scope. The price is higher than other brands, but well worth the price on a good scope. The cover can be rotated to the correct orientation then tightened into place. The function is top notch with a positive strong magnetic engagement. They open silently with a push of the thumb, and rubber buffers that stop the lid upon opening. They will not open accidently. The finish is perfect with the Leupold "L" in antique gold for a touch of class.

So expensive.... and you would think you should get the top of line lens covers for the price .... and you do! Make sure you size them right - Very solid build - all metal - strong attachment - adjusts easily - secures tightly. Very well made. If you spent good money on your scope and maybe plan to hand it down someday - or even sell it off - these covers are almost mandatory. I did shop them very hard and Leupold has truly has a tight price hold on this item. Never saw a discount, never saw a sale, hard to find right sizes used, once attached to a scope, they rarely come off and are sold used - even Ebay resellers were basically at retail prices when I searched. I paid about $100 for front and rear brand new. And for top scopes, would buy again in a heart beat.

This is one of the two caps that fit the 2-12 VX6. Had to wait for this to finally come out, fits perfectly on my VX6 2-12, I've had these on previous Leupold scopes and was sold on the quality, snug fit, and ease of use compared to the bikini cover or the two end caps held together with the rubber straps. I forgot these caps can be rotated independent of the threads they mount on the scope with, which allows one to orient them in any direction before snugging them up onto the scope. I've owned butler creek caps and also a set of Weaver caps, both worked but plastic construction and I wouldn't want to push their durability if I didn't have to. These deploy close to the tube, and can be pushed the rest of the way down easily to have them flush against scope tube.

For the price, you should get another cover for the ocular lens. That said, this cover is super well made, looks great, functions flawlessly, and rotates so you can customize where the release sits on your scope.

Does its job.

This fits perfectly on my; VX-5HD 3-15X44 CDS-ZL2 SIDE FOCUS ILLUM. FIREDOT DUPLEX Part # 172368. It is a bit tight to open but does keep the moisture out.
