I bought this for a christmas present for my daughter as she's studying Costume Design & Making at university. She thought it was amazing.

Mugler is the only futuristic designer.Nearly 50 years of creative power. He is so inventivean fantasy that knows no borders. Always made witha craftsmans finish and a aestetic style that only he can develop.Every piece has Mugler written all over it.1

ビヨンセやGAGAが好んで着用する様になって今頃注目を集め始めたミュグレーですが彼のスタイルは８０年代からずっと変わらず芸術的かつエンターテイメント要素が強い印象深い物です。この本ではその作品の数々が美しい写真で堪能できて本当に見応えがあります。カラーページが圧倒的に多く、解説もわかりやすい。ディテールに寄った写真も多いので細部の素晴らしい作り込みも堪能できます。ミュグレー作品のファンの人、ゴルチエやガリアノやマックイーンが好きな人たちにもお薦め。素晴らしい一冊。保存版です。

It's a good thing a picture is worth a thousand words, because this big, glossy coffee table book on audacious designer Thierry Mugler isn't worth reading. It's true you can't judge a girl by her corset, but it was the cover that attracted me and fortunately there was a lot more of the same inside. The photos, many of them by the immortal Helmut Newton, are gorgeously reproduced large-sized and in full-fledged color. Worth it on sale for the pics, but the text comes off like a press release.
