The Minnesota Midget heirloom was originally introduced in Minnesota, as a small quick maturing melon for those with short growing seasons. Growing to 3-4 inches weighing in at 10-25 ounces. This small fruit has a sweet orange flesh, that is ready to harvest in 70-100 days. Planting instructions:Plant Minnesota Midget heirloom seeds only after soil has warmed. Placing seeds in cold soil may cause them to rot. Best in fertile soil. Care: Be sure plant stays well watered through warm times. Elevate melons or place barrier between melons and damp ground to protect them. Harvesting: Cut cantaloupes off vine carefully with a knife to prevent damage. Nutritional Value: Great source of vitamins A and C Collecting Seed: Wait until the vine attached to Minnesota Midget heirloom cantaloupe has dried, then remove cantaloupe and set it aside for 3 weeks. Cut open cantaloupe and scoop out seeds from center.
