I was a bit nervous ordering these after reading some of the reviews about comfort and some soreness, particularly around the ankles. These boots look incredible and are very well made. Initially I had some mild discomfort around the ankle and then I realized I was trying to lace them like my other standard hiking boots... tight around the footbed and a bit looser around the collar. I then started barely tightening them and it all started to make sense: No slip or slide on inclines or descents and an amazingly comfortable hike. I'm totally hooked.

I absolutely LOVED these boots before the inner heel tore. I ordered these a year ago tomorrow and only wore them a few times before taking a trip to WA and AK in mid June 2022. I first broke these in on a 3 mile trail run on baker mountain while looking for a hot spring. My run was awesome! So much more natural in my movement as well as balanced, being able to actually feel what's was below my feet. I was sold! I wore these on and off for several months working at a fishing lodge. It's incredible the difference my feet, ankles, and knees felt on days I wore these! I was in a very rainy location and the shoes are not waterPROOF or I'd have worn them everyday. After the fishing lodge I really got the chance to put these to use hitchhiking and hiking various trails from Homer to fairbanks and even a quick trip to the jungles of Belize. I was sold on this brand and then it happened.. the heel tore and now has a piece of plastic driving into my foot. Wish this product had been worth the money.

Fit and finish is pretty good although it did not come with the can of renapur these are supposed to come with even though I got it from the vivo storefront so they will honor the 100 day return guarantee. I like these boots a lot though on first impressions. They are comfy, water beads on the leather as expected, traction is good in short test outside in snow/ice and sizing was perfect following the foot length + 6-14mm headspace rule they used which put me in a US 8 or Euro 41. I will be wearing them more as the days go forward to test breathability, comfort, traction in a more varied environment, etc. So far so good though.

I have ordered this item twice, once on another account.. Unfortunately they have had the same issue. The shell of the shoes themselves are awesome, truly waterproof, comfortable and durable. However, the rivets that anchor the shoelaces into the base of the shoes are very brittle. First time putting them on, the rivet pops out of socket. That's TWICE now, on DAY ONE! Due to the now open rivet in the shoe, the "waterproof" ability is now void. Getting a shoe-tailor is the proper fix, but these are already $270. MY ADVICE: Feed the shoelaces gently through the anchors when tightening the shoes on your feet, even if the rivet pops out they are still great support for your ankles. MY EXPERIENCE: I walk an average of 10 miles a day. These shoes are truly comfortable and can handle the terrain. The tear on my Tibialis Anterior Tendon does not effect me while these are on. Unfortunately, I now have wet feet when bestowed wet terrain. I can confidently say that I love the idea of these shoes. Structurally they are just not there yet.

I got another pair, at 10.5 this time. I went for a walk around my yard and I did some ankle testing by lifting my ankle while standing. He created so much pressure on the back of my ankle due to the design that my ankle immediately started to hurt all over again. I had originally chalk this up to having the wrong size boot, but now I know that it is because of poor design. It puts a lot of pressure on the center of your Achilles anytime your heel comes off the ground, especially because /runner/hiker frequently does especially while running or hiking up hills... (Old review) If you’re a 10.5 like me, get the 10 and not the 11. If the tenants just a little bit too tight, soak the boot in warm to warm hot water dry out the standing water and then wear the boot until it dries, switch your socks out as you do. This will help stretch the leather without hurting it to your exact foot shape

Nach dem ersten Jahr kann ich nur sagen das der Barfuß-Wanderschuh sehr zu empfehlen ist. Die Sohle ist sehr dick und daher läuft man sogar auf Schotter sehr angenehm. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Angenehmer Barfussstiefel. Wahr zu Größe. Flexible Sohle, die ein Gefühl des Untergrundes gibt, aber dennoch mit einem tiefen Profil, das einen guten Halt im Freien Gelände gibt. Am wichtigsten ist, vollen Raum für die Zehen, nicht mehr Druck und Scheuern, und damit weniger Blasenbildung. Für Anfänger im Barfusslaufen gilt: Trainieren Sie Ihre Füsse zuerst zu Hause und fangen Sie langsam an, um Ihren Fußmuskeln Zeit zu geben, sich zu regenerieren.

Ich habe die Schuhe für eine Wanderreise nach Madeira gekauft und war zunächst wirklich begeistert. Selbst auf längeren Touren und bei Nässe hatte ich stets einen sicheren Halt – teilweise sogar besseren Grip als mit meinen deutlich schwereren Bergschuhen. Leider gab es aber ein Problem mit dem Material: Beim Auftreten hat sich an der Außenseite des Schuhs eine Falte gebildet, die bei mir immer wieder zu Hautreizungen und letztlich zu einer schmerzhaften Blase geführt hat – an einer Stelle, an der ich sonst nie Probleme habe. Der Kundenservice war zwar bemüht, konnte mir hier aber leider keine Lösung anbieten. Nach etwas Recherche scheint dieses Problem bei einigen Barfußschuhen bekannt zu sein. Wäre dieser Materialfehler nicht gewesen, hätte ich die Schuhe definitiv behalten, denn vom Tragegefühl und der Funktionalität her haben sie mich überzeugt. So musste ich sie schweren Herzens zurückschicken.

Managed to catch these on offer for £67.50 I was using my primus lite knite shoes for everything including trekking, so i needed something a bit more robust. I got these and am not disappointed. Comfortable and sturdy, even on uneven ground. I would be able to hike a mountain in these. Would highly recommend
