Sovol Filament Dryer SH02, 3D Printer Filament Dryer Box for PLA PETG TPU

Great printing at a great price! Super colour and strength and neatly wound onto spool so no tangling. Recommended.

Working great so far, simple to use, noise level is not an issue and print quality has improved. I've placed it next to my Elegoo Centauri Carbon and directly feed into the filament sensor using the supplied PTFE tubes instead of using the roll holder. Helps to have the door slightly open to vent the humidity during drying. Added 2 x desicant bags that came with the Elegoo filaments into the trays inside the chamber as they are the perfect size.

Not as vivid as I expected. Quite translucent. Printing nice though on kobra-3-max

I absolutely love this product, there's nothing worse than having a print fail due to moisture. This was a life saver and most importantly a money saver. The days of throwing money down the drain are gone. With it's pre set filament types, and the ability to adjust time and heat is invaluable. Although you can print direct from the unit, I don't as I have a csf. Honestly buying this unit, changed my printing profits by miles. If you suffer with moisture and filament, you can't go wrong with this product

Came today and made something that uses about 40m of filament and got 5 colour changes. Absolutely lovely colours and a flawless print. Will definitely be getting more.

I’ve not had these long but they seem to work perfectly. The touch action is responsive and easy to use. It maintains temperature well. Those that say it increases humidity need to understand humidity. It even says in the instructions to open the chamber a few times to allow the moisture to escape. When you do the humidity plummets and eventually stabilises. I don’t like the outlet option. I drilled two holes in the back so I can feed directly into my U1.

This dryer feels better quality compared to others in this price category. But it has one flaw - HIGH PITCH NOISE fan. It's so annoying that i'm not sure i'm going to keep it. Other than that, body plastics, layout, lid with gasket, touchscreen - everything feels much better than competitors, space-pi for example. The annoying noise is a huge flaw. I'd happily pay £10-15 more for a quiet fan...

It works well. You can see the humidity go up and when you vent it goes down. Do this a few times and the filament is dry. You can hear the fan but not much.

I bought the Sovol filament dryer after spending months blaming my printer for problems that were very clearly caused by me storing filament like decorative pasta. At first I thought, "How much difference can dry filament really make?" The answer was uncomfortable. The first roll of PETG I dried produced noticeably cleaner prints, less stringing, and fewer mysterious defects. Apparently filament prefers not to absorb half the atmosphere before being melted. The best feature is being able to print directly from the dryer. Instead of drying filament, taking it out, and immediately exposing it back to the air like some sort of moisture reintroduction programme, the filament stays protected while printing. My favourite moment was hearing PETG print without the occasional crackling and popping noises that I'd previously convinced myself were completely normal. They were not. The dryer is simple to use, heats reliably, and has quickly become part of my standard printing routine. New roll? Dryer. Old roll? Dryer. Roll that's only been open for six minutes? Surprisingly, also dryer. I've become the sort of person who talks about filament humidity levels as though I'm managing a wine cellar. "This PETG has been properly conditioned." "The TPU needs a few hours in the dryer." The printer doesn't care, but I certainly do. The only downside is that it reveals the truth. When a print fails now, I can no longer immediately blame wet filament. Sometimes the problem is my slicer settings, my design, or my decision to start a 14-hour print and walk away. Highly recommended. If you print with PETG, TPU, ABS, or pretty much anything that enjoys absorbing moisture, this thing is worth having. Five stars. My filament is dry, my prints are cleaner, and I've added "filament moisture management" to the growing list of hobbies I never expected to have.

If you’re running a dual-extruder powerhouse like the Snapmaker U1, you already know that moisture is the enemy of precision. I recently picked up two Sovol Filament Dryers—one for each side of the machine—and it has completely transformed my workflow. Here is why this setup is a "must-have" for any serious maker. 1. Seamless IDEX Integration The Snapmaker’s design thrives on symmetry. By placing a Sovol dryer on both the left and right sides, you create a dedicated, climate-controlled path for both extruders. No more tangled spools: The rollers are buttery smooth. Direct Feeding: I run the PTFE tubes directly from the dryer outlets into the Snapmaker’s filament sensors. It looks professional and keeps the filament protected from the moment it leaves the spool until it hits the nozzle. 2. Large Capacity Meets Compact Footprint Most dryers are either too small for 2kg spools or too bulky for a desk. The Sovol hits the sweet spot. It comfortably fits two standard 1kg spools or one giant 2kg spool. With two units, I can effectively keep four different materials prepped and bone-dry at once. 3. Consistent Thermal Performance The fan-assisted heating is the real hero here. Unlike "passive" heated boxes that leave cold spots, the Sovol circulates air efficiently. PLA/PETG: Stays crisp and string-free. Nylon/PVA: If you’re using the Snapmaker for complex supports (PVA), you need this. PVA turns into useless glue if it sees a drop of humidity; these dryers keep it in peak condition for days-long prints. 4. Quiet & Intuitive The interface is dead simple—set your temp, set your timer, and forget it. Even with two units humming next to the printer, the noise level is negligible. It blends right into the cooling fan noise of the Snapmaker itself. Pro-Tip for Snapmaker Users: "If you’re printing high-temp materials, use the top exit port on the Sovol. It provides the straightest filament path to the J1/U1 print heads, reducing tension on the extruders and preventing underextrusion during fast movements." Final Verdict The Snapmaker U1 is a premium machine; feeding it "wet" filament is like putting low-grade fuel in a race car. Buying two Sovol dryers is a relatively small investment that pays for itself in avoided print failures and flawless surface finishes. Highly recommended.

Great stuff, needs more than a few layers in order to contain water
