It's not rust red it's chocolate brown
I don't think I've ever seen a less accurate colour Swatch on the front of a paint can.The texture is good but the colour is completely wrong

Great Effect, Both Visual & tactile
I have had some products from Jenolite over the years and they have always been good, and this is no exception.I requested this as I think a rust effect if done properly looks really good. The effect is versatile as well and can be used on many materials and items. I have a few projects coming up indoors and outdoors where I'm thinking of using this and also some existing stuff I might try it on, with the permission of SWMBO first of course.I'm also want to try and see if I can add a rust effect to parts of the models I build, but I think this will be a bit difficult as the spray pattern is far bigger than my airbrush, saying that just thought, I wonder if I could decant it and use a large nozzle to accommodate the texture, hmm. There are also some 3D prints this might look good on and some garden ornaments, this is certainly versatile and has got me thinking.I did try it on a small piece of metal and after a few coats it gave a really good effect, it does take a while to dry between coats though, especially when compared to my airbrush paints, but that's no problem I just go do something else and come back. The great thing is the paint is textured so as well as visual appearance you also get a tactile experience which I think is great. In conclusion, a great paint effect with many uses. Full marks.

Great effect paint from a top brand
Testing this on some scrap wood, I was rather impressed with the effect, so much so that I am going to apply this to my vehicle..It coats well with good coverage, as I’d expect from Jenolite. It’s textured (as well as coloured like rust), I am not sure how this is going to behave with a clear topcoat. It’s a lovely look, maybe not to everyone’s taste but I think it’s an interesting product and can’t wait to see what it looks like covering the large formerly rusty patches on my van!

Transforms Surfaces into Realistic Rust Effects
I picked up the Rust Effect Spray Paint because I wanted to add a more industrial and weathered touch to some DIY projects around the house. I was working on a couple of old wooden frames and metal planters, and I thought giving them a rusted, worn-out look would give them that extra bit of character. I wasn’t disappointed. The spray gives a really convincing rusty texture. It’s not just about the colour; the paint actually creates a textured effect that looks like natural rust. The result is pretty impressive, and my projects now look like they've been sitting in the garden for years, weathered by time. I’ve also used it on some plastic and ceramic surfaces, and it sticks well. The coverage is decent too, and a couple of coats did the job perfectly. That being said, it's definitely worth mentioning that the paint dries slower than I expected. I ended up having to wait longer between coats, especially when I used it outdoors, and I found that humidity made it worse. Another thing to keep in mind is that the spray nozzle occasionally clogged up, which was frustrating and messed up the evenness of a couple of spots. But with a bit of patience and a touch-up, I was able to fix it.Overall, if you're looking for an easy way to create that aged, rusted effect on your DIY pieces, this spray paint does the trick. It’s versatile enough to work on various materials and makes your projects stand out with a unique look, even if it requires a bit of extra time and care. Just be sure to give it time to dry properly, and you’ll get the effect you’re after.

Works with 3D printed objects
When offered the opportunity to review the JENOLITE Rust Effect Spray Paint, I was interested to see if it would work with 3D printed objects, so took two PLA Benchy's, one black and one white, to see how the paint would react.I found that the white Benchy gave the best result. The paint adhered well, and after a few coats, the Benchy took on a good orange rust colour with a bit of variation and with some light metallic flakes. The choice of a Benchy was not the best, as the paint had difficulty reaching around the hull and within the cabin, but it was enough to convince me that this paint will work well with future 3D printed projects I want to take on a rusted effect.
