It is in this scenario that Ranjit Katyal (played by Akshay Kumar), a wealthy and powerful Indian businessman, who has always seen himself as a Kuwaiti, rather than an Indian, realizes that he no longer wields any influence on the Iraqis, and that he and his family are in as much danger as anyone else. Ranjit unknowingly becomes the man who all 170,000 Indians look up to for getting them out safely from Kuwait. Airlift is the story of Indians stranded in Kuwait during this traumatic time. A story of how they, with the help of Ranjit Katyal, managed to survive the Iraqi invasion, and against all odds traveled a thousand kilometers across the border into Amman, Jordan. From Amman, 170,000 Indians were brought home by the largest and the most successful evacuation ever attempted by any country, in the history of the world. Over 59 days, the Indian government systematically flew over 488 Air India commercial flights into a war zone to evacuate all 170,000 Indians and safely bring them

As good as Baby
I was speechless after I saw the movie. It is a classic. I didn't move from my seat until the movie ended . Though some songs weren't required , it didn't bore me at all. I just can't say why people say that the movie is boring. It is as good as Akshay's Baby

If you know what this movie is about - there's no review needed!
Great print - good disc quality and as always - it's a serious Akshay Kumar starrer - never disappointing! Go for it, buffs!

AK|MENON|VFX|NEAT
Do not compare it with the west. A neat story. Nicely directed. Could have been better at some points but the Raja Krishna Menon has done a fine, fine job. VFX is very, very wisely used. An actor needs a director to be great and you give AK a driven character with a nice story line, I bet he'll not let you down.

Just Touching.
I give this film 3/5 for being a unique film with terrible acting and melodramatic presentation. On the con side, the story needed to to be told for the larger mass of India who have forgotten, were not born or just ignored a phase of history. The message is important: you will remain an Indian however you may want to ape the country of adoption. And being an Indian means that you know what India is all about.

Epique

Good movie, worth watching
Everything you expect an Akshay Kumar movie to be. A few cheesy scenes, but overall worth watching at least once. Nimrat Kaur was kind of wasted in her role. And would her stylist please dress her in something flattering, not those awful beiges and belts tightened on her waist - they do nothing for her.
