I was looking for something that felt like a real piece of fitness equipment, not a flimsy speed rope, and this set seemed to have everything I was looking for to get a more challenging workout. The quality is noticeable right out of the box. The metal handles have a solid, comfortable weight, and the carbon fiber grips feel great and don't slip when your hands get sweaty. The spin is incredibly smooth and fast because of the ball bearings in the handles; the rope never feels like it's tangling or getting caught up during a session. The real value, though, is having the three different weighted ropes. I started with the lightest one to get used to it and have been using the heavier 1/4 lb and 1/2 lb ropes as I get stronger. You can really feel the difference in your arms and shoulders – it’s a killer workout. Sizing the rope was easy; I just followed the instructions to trim it to the right length for my height, which only took a couple of minutes.
