Robust rope ladder. If you're using it for anything other than decent it's important to pull it down and lock it off somehow to keep it stable which means taking the stretch and bounce out of it. I used it for climbing a yacht mast and as long as you do that it's fine.

Like a crash helmet or something.It's a shame that I was only sent the 3m length to review, however I have paired it with some climbing ropes and carabiners so that I get the maximum length hanging out of the window as possible.My tests lead me to believe this is more than up to the job in terms of strength.

I purchased the 5m rope ladder and I am impressed with the quality of the material and construction, including the steel carabiner clips that can be used to attach the ladder to a building. I had thought that the ladder was too short (about 4.6m) but see that it stretches to the full 5m when pulled. It is just what I needed for a good price. It was also important that the company had the item in stock so I could get it next day delivery using prime.

With a bit of practice, it becomes easier, but it would be great if the attachment process were more intuitive.

i got this as a just in case for home being the health and safety nut that i am. 3m is just about enough to get from a 1st floor window almost to the ground with a bit of a jump, or at least its perfect for getting to a conservatory roof. the rung don't feel wide enough for me.

Whilst you hope you never need to use this; this ladder is comparable to other ladders I have seen for emergency home use.I got the 3-metre version, which isn’t the longest, but gets you much closer to the ground to jump off or climb onto the downstairs window ledge as I would do. You ideally need some sort of anchor/hook to attack the carabiner clips too, for me, in an emergency I would hope the radiator holds up to the task.This may also come in useful for those with large vans who need to get on/off the roof for whatever reason, but I can’t test this for long-term/repeated or outdoor use.Overall, seems decent for the price, whilst more rigid versions are available – I don’t think you can complain if you need to use this for an emergency.

Thank you for the opportunity to test this emergency fire evacuation ladder, which I hope I'll never need to use and I always thought of buying one. The ladder is 3 metres long and seems durable and stable in case of need. I'm not featherweight, but I can see that the ladder can support up to 900kg, so I should be alright! It's not exactly lightweight as described, but it's not heavy either. It's easy to store anywhere in a bedroom and doesn't take up much space. It comes with a practical black carrier bag with a string.
