Needed something to help guinea piggies stay cool in the current heatwave. This is the best product out of literally everything!! I've tried. A whole 6'c than the rest of their bedding!! Please see pic, I took temp of fleece and the mat next to it with an infrared thermometer.This mat is without the gel most have- piggies kept trying to eat those ones and weren't safe to use. Being just fabrics this is something I can leave in their cages unsupervised. They live on fleece so are used to not nibbling fabric, but if your animals aren't used to fabric bedding it's worth supervising just in case. The top side is super soft on little piggy feet.The instructions say to not wash and just brush clean. With cats and dogs maybe that's practical but not guinea pigs! I've been chucking in the washing machine with their fleece and washing at 60'c with no problems so far. It's also SUPER absorbant, potentially a great alternative to towels/uhaul/puppy pads under pet bedding when it's not needed for cooling.Once they've sat in a spot for a while it stops being as cool, but this happens with gel mats too. I think the solution is to cover the entire cage with them so there's always a cool spot, or use in conjunction with frozen bottles or ice packs. The 20x25'' is equivilent to 1.5x2 c&c grids so you'll need 2 or 3 to cover an average c&c cage.Overall I'm so pleased, definitely the product to go for if you have nibbly animals in need of cooling.

This is ok, its cool to touch, and nice and soft, but not so good as a cool mat, the other type, the blue ones made of rubber are much better, which I already have, I bought this one because it looked comfortable, this one my dogs just scratched it up to make a bed, plus it moves about on carpet, or slips about on wooden floor not very safe, not very practical on all counts, now its in my dogs bed just has a mat, not what I bought it for, they've got lots of blankets and mats.Not good for its intended purpose

Much thinner than I expected. Would make a nice blanket but not a "mat". It isn't waterproof as described and would need machine washing rather than wiping over with warm water. Machine washing may make it lose shape though. Can't say I'm happy with this item as it's too thin to use as a crate mat. We'll use it as a blanket for the summer though, hopefully it'll be cooler than a normal one?! Not worth the money.

The silky feel cover is much better than the blue slippery plastic you usually get, our dog wouldn't go near it, even with bribery..He has gone on this one, but due to illness has to have padding underneath, this hampers the cooling effect, but does help.

Not very good at cooling at all, it's just some material sewn together and that's it. Dog wouldn't touch it so got a gel cooling matt for her instead which she loves.Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the cat took to this matt so it's now in his box so not an entire waste of money

Buddy loves his cooling mat. Feels cool to touch and he obviously feels it better after being out in heat. Not a matteess but small mat.

My long haired cat has slept for about a week at night on the bathroom floor rather than my bed. This mat appears to be similar material to the coolness/warmth and feel of a bed !!
